Well as I understand it a leased receiver costs $15 to send back if you close your account. If leased what are you on the hook for if it gets damaged? I only bought the 301 to do a self install for the Welcome Pack.

I have been on the Welcome Pack since I started with Dish and they gave me the one month free. About two weeks after my free month ended I was offered Epix at half price for 6 months.

The deal is for 6 months if anyone is interested. I asked if I could get Encore half price instead and the rep said yes it is on the list. :cool: Epix is a decent deal at $3.50 but for me $3 for Encore will give more of a selection. Over the month preview of Epix it was incredibly repetitive.

I have the Welcome Pack on a month to month deal and pay no tax here in NY. A state senator from Brooklyn wanted to add a 5% tax on satellite earlier this year but it was shot down the last I heard.

I don't understand the point of Flex TV if the OP is going to do a self install? Just buy the equipment, install and then call up for an activation only account. No fees and just pay monthly until you don't want it anymore.

Thanks I get it now. Its not really about the physical location (like out of home spot beam) but if the receivers are all connected to the same setup. So if you take all your receivers with you and set them up in a temporary location on a different dish you would likely pass the audit, right?

I have read through this topic and I just don't understand how the audit process could work unless Dish has some way to ping your receivers over the Internet. I guess when people had phone lines hooked to their boxes it could call the mothership but how many of those setups are left?

AMC was supposed to end on 11/21 yet I still have it. Also HDNET Movies is no longer listed in the Welcome Pack yet I still have it. My gut feel is that AMC will officially be back and HDNET will be gone the day of the price increase.
