HD or SD locals on Conus

I don't know about Dish anymore but you can get US HD locals from Detroit and Seattle (you can even get both!) from Shaw Direct. This is a Canadian service and you will have to give a Canadian address or use a broker. I do miss the rest of the US programming living in southern Mexico but Dish...

Playa del Carmen - Mexico - HELP

The only experience I have is buying 3 antennas from them over the last 6 or 7 years. Quality seems good. Talk to them to see what you can work out. I'm sure someone there speaks English being in Guadalajara and in the sat business.

Playa del Carmen - Mexico - HELP

They are fiberglass. I'm sure he would sell and arrange to ship to you via DHL or UPS but this may be a little expensive and customs may be due. This possibly won't be too bad if NAFTA covers antennas. The $50 little old truck with a tarp and 4 guys who live in the truck shipping method is...

Playa del Carmen - Mexico - HELP

www.antenas.com.mx I have 2 of his 1.8m and one 2.4 m. The pricing is reasonable, quality is good and shipping is incredibly cheap for the size and weight. I think the 2.4m was around $50 US for shipping from Guadalajara to Tabasco. I had some wind damage once and needed new lnb support arms...

Playa del Carmen - Mexico - HELP

I'm not sure if you can only have 61.5 without 119 as you have to set up your receiver in a multisatellite configuration that expects 119 to be the main signal. When i originally set my system up, 119 had decent strength and i had to install it first and then add additional satellites. Maybe...

Playa del Carmen - Mexico - HELP

As you probably saw in Satbeams, niether 72 nor 129 is in our favor given our geography. I was still getting 110 with very good signal quality but there isn't much there unless you like Arab or Spanish language programming. There is some HD. Even this requires at least 1.8m. You will...

Playa del Carmen - Mexico - HELP

I am a little closer to Playa here in Tabasco state. I had a 1.8m antenna on 61.5 and 119 and also a 2.4m for 110. After the two satellite changes at 61.5 and 119, I was left with a system that no longer received the channels I watched the most like networks on 119 and HD channels Palladia, Sci...

Can I get the Locals of CHICAGO while in MINNEAPOLIS?

I'll take anything I can get, even the Packers. There isn't much out there for conus HD networks in the fringe. Surely Green Bay is on a spotbeam.

DISH HD Migration off of 61.5

I have just "moved" to Rochester and am waiting for HD channels to appear on the guide but only non-functional SD locals. I called after the move and the CSR informed me that Dish had no rights to the HD network content there and only could offer SD. I saw on Lyngsat that the Rochester HD...

Can I get the Locals of CHICAGO while in MINNEAPOLIS?

Iceberg, do you know what has happened to the AAD offering for HD? I don't see 110 tp 17 listing this anymore on Lyngsat. Even though this only worked for a few hours a day on my 8ft offset antenna, it was my only option for network HD; i was liking the Chicago cannels too.

Can I get the Locals of CHICAGO while in MINNEAPOLIS?

Chicago locals in HD were on 110 transponder 17 but only as part of the All American distant network package. I live in mexico and was picking this up with a remote service address for my account but the signal got so weak, I didn't renew when the prepaid amount was up. I don't know if they are...

Help a trucker with his plans.

I have a system with only 61.5 but it did have 119 when I first installed it. It works fine with only the 61.5 satellite. I have a 722 vip. I don't know if you will have problems with the initial configuration though. I don't understand what the check switch will do without a switch but you do...
