    Opened it up just for grins, did see 2 bulging capacitors....We just don't watch much TV anymore, the only thing that has kept me from dropping is we like to take in an occasional St. Louis Cardinal game...The box arrived today to return the 922, the 722 has been up and running for over a week...

    I must have a DP500/1000 as we used to need 118.7 for our locals. I assume it's something that can be dealt with when I upgrade. This came up as I am trying to eliminate/minimize our electric usage, hoping I can eliminate the DP44 and the inserter.

    My current setup is a 922 that is fed by a DP44, more than likely I will be changing to the new hopper/joey setup. Is my DP44 necessary? We are on the Western Arc, we used to use the 4th bird at 118.7 for our locals, but they have since moved and I no longer have that being fed into the switch...

    I have an hdmi splitter in my closet with my 922, it feeds hdmi to the living room tv, bedroom tv and the projector in the basement. If I want to watch something different in the theatre room I fire up the HTPC, login to Dishonline recline and :popcorn

    If you are having multiple failures I would be looking at the placement of the unit causing high temperatures or you may have some sort of electrical issue. Drives do fail, but it's not the "norm".

    I would wait until tomorrow before jumping to any conclusions. It is well known that these receivers can be a bit buggy for the first 24-48 hours.

    Mine is working just fine, I control mine with an IR repeater via my Harmony. I would reboot the 922, probably the remote also, just remove and replace the battery.

    Press the menu button twice on the 922, the password should be on the left side towards the bottom.
