So I had some time today to play with this. I have seen several posts about using an SL5 or SL3 on an 18x20 dish. Here are the results I got. I used my old trusty peaking LNB so I knew I would get as good a signal as possible.

Normal signals on the 99, 101and 103 in my area are 95+ on most transponders. IMAG0069_640x480.jpgIMAG0065_640x480.jpgIMAG0066_640x480.jpgIMAG0068_640x480.jpgIMAG0067_640x480.jpg

Was not trying to replace the Slimline. Just wanted to see what the signals would actually be. Tailgaters would probably be the only ones that would really use it. Aslo notice no 110 or 119. Got 0 signal on those.

I do this for my RV using a Phase III with an SL3. Lose about 6 pts, of signal. Get low 90's off the 101 and low 80's off the 99 and 103. Modified the arm to fold too. When warm comes back I am going to try to swap in a "Dish" 1000.2. It is a little wider and might improve the 99 and 103 a little. That will be an unholy alliance.

Long thread here on the subject:

Do you think you could get it where the 101 signal qualities were hitting where they need to be totally ignoring the 99 and 101?
