I was reading somewhere on here about a 4k Test/demo channel but I cannot find the post anywhere. I cannot find any 4k test/demo channel in the guide either. I just had a H3 & Joey 4K installed and would like to check them out. Yes my TV is 4k as well. Does anyone know?

Thanks!
Jay

There are no 4K Demo Channels yet. Hopefully we will have one in the future (or maybe NASA 4K)

There are a bunch of 4K shows and movies in the VOD section. But not sure if there are any free at this moment.

The only free one I saw was SyFy's (I STILL hate that new name/logo. Prefer Sci Fi) Defiance. I clicked on it but it was only a stream, not a downoad. It quickly told me that my DSL at 6 mbps was not satisfactory and booted me out. :oldfrown.

Maybe someone at DISH will see this and spool a FREE 4K Demo Program via satellite so you can show off you 4K TV and Hopper 3 in time for Super Bowl Sunday. :)

Not a bad way for them to sell more Hopper 3's. :D

Thanks Scott. I guess time will tell what we'll get 4k-wise. Do you know of a way to filter or search just for 4k movies? I tried 4K and UHD in the search and got nuttin'. I did fine some by manually looking though.

Remember when there was the Discovery HD Theatre channel and they had random films of HD content (when HD wasn't as common as it is today) ? Some were just a stationary camera recording an outdoor scene... Dish should license short, simple things like that for a demo channel.

Apparently, my 60Mbps connection isn't fast enough either. Hmmm

The head honcho of Dish Technology has been popping up on many threads the last couple of days. I'm sure Scott won't let him get away without giving your suggestion to him.

Yes a free demo spool would be awesome. My internet isn't fast enough yet either for the 4K shelf so I'm waiting on some 4K content to load from the satellite on either ch 1 or 500. Some 1080 p stuff loaded this morning finally, but I'm waiting on 4K :)

The speed requirements for Netflix will be the same. In fact, Netflix recommends in the 25Mb/s speed for 4K.

I remember that. That was pretty cool. I miss those channels.

I got booted also for not having enough bandwidth. 4K from Dish will be useless to me unless delivered from Satellite Are the pay VOD movies satellite delivered. The free are not.

There will be 4K vod via satellite under ch 1 and 500. It just takes a few days to get loaded. I got install Sunday and my 1080p vod just got loaded by this morning.

I got my hopper on Monday. I tried 4k vod and got kicked out also

Tuesday at 5pk I tried again and got 4k video

I do believe that 4k is spooled it just takes longer. so if you cannot get 4k through vod then try it again

I'm thinking hat something is broken on Dish's end. No 4k VOD for me with 60Mbps. But, both my TVs, and my blu-ray player are steaming 4k just fin from Netflix, Amazon, and M-GO.
