Direct does have a 1 day period with credit cards. if your bill cycle is on the 2nd/ then your cc is charged on the 3rd or 17th if you use debit. But my gas bill is generated on the 6th and is autocharged on the 6th so I dont get to see it before hand.

I haven't seen any 1-day grace period. My CC is charged on the 17th, the bill isn't offered for viewing until the 18th.

And I'm sorry to hear your gas company also has a poor business practice.

My D* bill is always available for viewing one to two weeks before the due date and charge.

Like this month the statement was available on the 12th and I was charged on the 26th.

It isn't if you use a credit card. They do it for bank drafting or debit cards though.

I've always payed with a CC, and always had the statement available ahead of time.

Either way it would suck a little if it was day and date.

I've dropped premiums a couple times now after noticing the statement and then been charged the new reduced amount on the bill date.
