Can you diplex ota from an off air antenna with the 5lnb dish setup.

How???
NO :(
Let me restate that, No you cannot , WHEN the MPEG4 goes into effect, if you are in an area that does not use the 99 or 103 locations then yes you can until then.

You don't. He is cutting off his own nose with such unrealistic demand limitations.

He needs to get a common type antenna without that built-in diplex junk and directly run the cable to the receiver. That thing is designed for a dual output, single LNB dish (2 ports) not a multi-LNB dish.

Separate lines should always be run for the strongest possible signal, even if your system is MPG2. Using the diplexers reduces the signal strenth of both the satellite signal and OTA signal. If you are in an area that is marginal to your OTA signal, the use of diplexers can make the difference of a good or bad reception of your OTA stations. Two lines is always better than one, if possible.
