Looks like DirecTV and Raycom are having a tussle. From Fox 19 (WXIX) Cincinnati.

Attention DirecTV Customers!
FOX19 NOW, your local FOX station, may no longer be available on DirecTV after August 31, 2014.
That means you could miss the Bengals, American Idol, Glee and the best local news and weather. But you don’t have to wait.
The good news is you can take action. You Have Choices.
FOX19 NOW remains available on Time Warner, DISH and all
other local TV providers and free over the air. Go to www.fox19now.com for more information.
Raycom Media is diligently working to resolve this matter with DirecTV.
Thank you for your viewership and support. And check back here regularly for updates.
Don’t forget you can get all FOX19 NOW newscast streaming live on your mobile device and at www.fox19now.com.

Yes, I've got the same thing going on in Toledo with Toledo 11 (CBS).

This dispute includes WMC in Memphis. They do this every time their contract is up.
Our news station starts sending the messages to try to scare everyone. It kinda gets old lol

Here are possibly affected stations owned by Raycom:

No idea if every station is part of the dispute or just certain ones, but it is usually all/most.
Also there could be some smaller market stations here that aren't carried by DirecTV, I didn't cross reference it.

Highlighted ones are the ones I'm dealing with ....
CBS Channel 11 is a HUGE issue for Toledo and surrounding area, the FOX 36 one, most could care less ... then again, they expire at this moment because thier only programming that they have that is usually Not Miss happens right now in the next few weeks when the NFL starts again ... without the NFL, they could turn the channel off and no one here would miss it.

5 - 10 years should be the absolute minimum.

justify a long term contract.
the price of everything goes up so you want to lock broadcasters into money loosing contracts?
as a technician I am a skilled tradesmen and I expect to be paid a livable wage so I will not work for any close to min wage and so does every other employee no matter the industry.

the way only to control inflation and the price of everything going up is through government regulation.
never forget that television service is a luxury product/service not a right.

Except you forget, I can watch that channel for FREE over the air.

NO reason that the signal has to be charged for in the first place.

so then go over the air or free to air.
they charge because its a basically a "convenience" fee that covers infrastructure and over heads costs of pushing that signal out because many customers would rather have the convenience of having it included with their non broadcast cable networks.

The video providers have to cover that cost for infrastructure not the affiliates or the networks. Raycom and the other affiliates/Networks are just charging this BS fee because Congress has allowed it.

I already do, do OTA for my local signals, afterward D* decided to add them to our packages.

Shouldn't the OTA station be paying to be ON D*, not the other way around ?

Thats what I was thinking too ...

Now if I'm allowed to choose the market I would like to receive or addl. market and they want a fee, I'm good with that, unfortunately with Spot beams, thats not a possibility.
That said, you could also be offered to purchase any of the Locals that are in your Spotbeam .... I think this would be a Great way for addl. money to be made and subs would also be happy.
