Either a Hopper with Sling or a Hopper 3. Either must be internet connected.

Thanks, that’s what I was afraid of. I never use the DVR and was hoping to use a Wally to save a couple of bucks.

The Wally doesn’t have the required Sling technology. It used to have the ability to add a Sling adapter but those no longer work.

With a Wally, there are still a number of live streams you can view on DishAnywhere much like Sling.

IIRC, the Sling Adapter was for the ViP722, maybe for the Hopper 2000 and was discontinued in 2019 because it used technology that was easily hacked (Adobe Flash) and was in the hardware - therefore not fixable.

This Satellite Guys discussion in 2017 is still not clear whether the Sling Adapter worked on the Wally. Wally and Dish Anywhere
