also they should not be able to TIE OTA channels to any other NON OTA Channel.
They shouldn't even be allowed to charge retrans fees within the DMA.

Pretty much. They moved Smackdown to USA from SyFy just to keep USA at the top.I am apparently in the minority but I can't even remember the last time I watched USA Network. Am I missing something? Does the WWE drive its popularity?
This dispute will ONLY affect your local NBC station if you live in one of the previously listed OTA markets that is a NBC O&O. If you don't live in one of those markets, you are fine and your NBC station is only an affilaite, and thus not affected. My NBC local isn't an O&O so it should be OK (?), but I will miss a couple of the others. Wish I had OTA, those of us who don't have that option really get the shaft when it comes to things like this.
I got the satellite bug after installing my first dish . Than after that countless receivers and switches and cable runs . It's more of a hobby. I like all the technology in all the products dish makes ( most of them) I also love to come here and read about satellite topics every day . My wife and daughter watch the fios tv and I stick with dish . I guess you could call me a loyal customerSo out of curiosity, why do you maintain both? That's got to be a hell of a monthly "nut".
Comcast dropped YES network..now would be a good time for a dish counter attackSad part about this is Comcast can use this to get people to switch from DISH to Comcast.
This is why the cable companies should not be allowed to own the channels.
No matter what happens Comcast wins.
The only thing I would miss are the NCIS reruns on USA, everything else in that package is crap. Did anyone else notice that when USA started scrolling their whine yesterday they messed up the audio and only background sounds were audible?
They want their cake and get to it eat it too. They also posted on Facebook as well and I told them I get them for free still on my antenna. Don't know why they want more money for a station which is available for free.

Yeah, but then you miss all the fun ads!!You could watch NCIS reruns on Netflix.
That's where ala carte would come into play.I have a lot of feelings on these disputes. I don't think it is fair that a handful of companies own dozens of channels and use the one or two good ones that they have as negotiating tools for all the lousy channels they force the providers to take. We're not privy to the negotiations so we really don't know if allowing contracts to expire are effective in negotiating lower rates. The people subscribing to pay TV are declining each year, and the people left are paying on average $100/mo for TV, so I really think they have a right to be upset about any disruption in service.
