DISH Makes offer to buy Sprint (Rescinded)

Perhaps Softbank is better off acquiring Sprint if they give Charlie a deal with getting on the towers. That way you can have your cake and eat it too. Charlie is just power hungry and wants full control. The board members may stipulate that they will do the deal with Softbank if they do some deal with Charlie.

What kind of ignorant comments are those that Ergen made ??? Pot, meet kettle..... Dish employs (or contracts) plenty of non-Americans who have a piss-poor grasp on English.

article said:
“How do you have a $117 million home you live in for a week a year?” he wondered. “That works out to, what, a billion dollars a month?”
That'd seem to be a major Math Fail on Ergen's part.

I expect to hear more about Lightsquared soon. I believe Charlie bought some of their debt.

Southpoint (a Charlie enterprise) has 600 million of the 1.7 billion outstanding debt. Probably bought for pennies on the dollar like the satellite companies he acquired and converted their spectrum into cell phone spectrum.

Rumors in the business press that American Movil (largest cell phone carrier in the Americas and with piles of money) may jump in with Charlie on the Sprint deal. Charlie also filed to buy over 50 percent of the Sprint stock, activating a Federal requirement for Sprint to disclose some business information. The poker game continues.

I have a feeling Ergen needs help because Sprint is just too big of a fish for him to capture on his own.

Having big backers in the deal could really help Dish push Sprint service up.

The Kansas press (sprint country) say the Sprint team is worried that there will be a "thinning" in their exec suite if Charlie wins. Thus, the foot dragging on their part.

All they have to do is look at what DISH did to Blockbuster when they took over and the fact that they continue to shed physical stores at a fast rate , to know what they would do to Sprint in a takeover. The Sprint team should be worried.
