I am new to the world of HD. I do have an HD TV and I have a 811 reciever along with the Top 120,the HD packakage and Voom. I have also a basic analog cable that I use to get cable internet and I also get my locals. ANyway I am thinking about getting a OTA antenna so I can get locals in HD. Just curious what type of quality would I get with an OTA antenna compaired to analog cable. One other reason in looking at this I am thinking of dropping cable and going DSL.

Thanks

Steve

If the cable channels are not HD - I would say a world of difference. Go for the antenna. I think you will like what you see.

FWIW - keep the cable internet. Just dump the other cable stuff...

Thanks I may go for the antenna. I have to get the basic cable so I can get the cable internet which cost me around $13 which includes about 22 channels and my locals. My internet cost and additional $34

Be aware like most cable companies if you drop the basic analog service the cost of the internet service will go up!! I would ask them and find out!!

Some additional info here is the info I got at antenna web. Any suggestions on an Antenna?

From what I understand a few years ago. I had to get the basic cable before I could get the internet.

You are all UHF... A lot of folks go with a CM4228. I use a Wingard 9095P with good luck. Put it above the roof, not in the attic. This antenna feeds the 811's and the 942 without an amp.:)

I just get Internet from by cable company - nothing else. Check with them again. Yes - it will cost more because you are dropping basic cable(tv).. It's still cheeper to go the satelite route...

The ones I listed previously was the HD. Below is all of the channels that antennaweb.org gave.

Thanks I'll check with my cable company

I checked with my cable company and if I drop the basic cable (which is $12.75) my Internet would be $10 more.
