Under your agreement with Dish Network you must have a phone line or broadband connected to your receiver at all times.

By having it hooked up the receiver reports home every so often and reports PPV purchases, signal levels, and its also possible to report back viewing habits.

Had my landline disconnected in Jan., called dish and let them know....they have taken off(disabled) the phone line connection fee,(4 recievers), for my account for ever....

They recently announced that they were going to waive the additional outlet fee for the first dual tuner dual tv output receivers without a phone line connected. Are they now waiving these fees for some people that have more than one of these installed in their homes that does not have a landline?
