It has been reported multiple times, that the channel order in Detroit was goofy on the H20 and HR20.

Aka when you hit channel 5 (or what ever it is)... you would get the SD version, and then you have to channel down to get the HD version.

Well, that is fixed now (make take a little while to trickle down to your box).
The official order of channels is to be:

MPEG-4 HD Sat Based
MPEG-2 SD Sat Based
OTA

If there are any other markets, let me know... and I'll forward them on.

Thanks for the update Earl. That will be a much welcome fix. It hasn't trickled down yet, but it will be a good thing when it does!

Are these as of today?
I don't know if the fix went in specifically for Detroit, or accross the board.

Double check for me.... if they are still wrong today.... I will list them in the TechKnow thread at forums.directv.com (where we got the detroit ones fixed through).

I sent the info on... hopefully it wont' take to long to get it updated.
I am also check to see if you need to do a power cycle or anything to get it corrected.

What if we wanted it the other way - with SD first? I guess there is no way for us to change this.

Right now... no, they don't have it customizeable on the user end.

Detroit fix hit yesterday. No changing the channel to 2, 4, 7, 20, 62 takes you to the HD feed instead of the SD feed as it did before.

A most cool and needed improvement.

The others have been "sent up" to the necessary area... I can't see it taking mroe then a week to get corrected..

If you are in Detroit, and you haven't seen it take effect yet... reboot your system to force your guide to rebuid.

Wow Fixed here in Minnesota I did not need to do a reset.
Thanks ebonovic :up

Why would you want SD first.

It's mostly for my wife's benefit. Most of the daytime viewing is in SD anyways. She tends to select channels by just entering the number. I would rather it default to the SD, so if she records, it uses less space. You might want to stretch to get rid of the black bars, feed native resolution to a video processor, various reasons. Not a huge deal, but I would prefer to order as I wanted.
