Is G4 going HD next week?

Hmmm, if it does go HD, I may watch it to get me the Morgan Webb in HD candy.

same here. they were very professional. i watch very little g4 programming but it would be nice to see the CES in hd
Although it doesn't have any content that interests me now, it is the type of channel that should do well in HD.
It could be that G4 is going HD, which is why the guide lists it as such, but Direct may not be carrying it in HD yet.
do the sd versions of the other hd channels do that? i don't remember seeing the sd version of tnt say hd anywhere or other channels. no?
No. HD broadcast and logos are listed on the HD station only. This is the first time I have seen it on a SD station. Perhaps it is a sign of something? Plus, someone has said that G4 already broadcast in HD
but i also understand what you're saying. we should wait until it happens and not think it's definitely going to happen on wed.
I agree. No confirmation of anything. We are only speculating based on a logo in the guide on April fools and on a day (Wednesday) in which we normally get additions. It could be a guide listing mistake as well.
Don't trust the guide. CMT lists EVERY show in HD but the only thing on it I've ever seen on it in HD was the CMA's
G4 is in HD allready, as our local uverse system carry's it. So it could be very well that D* would pick it up.

A: We do currently offer our G4 channel in a version of HD. That is we are upconverting our signal and hope to transition our full schedule to true HD later this year. In terms of getting what we have now, contact your TV provider and tell them you want them to carry us in HD. That’s the best way to make it happen.

Notice that it is undated. We have no idea how much HD they show NOW. Considering there were some HD programs listed in the guide, I would say that they do have HD now. Also, some of the cable subs on other sites have said that they do NOW show HD programming.

That I don't know. That is a good question. We would have to ask them.
Even though the guide can be misleading at times, it is usually accurate at listing programs in HD for those stations that show a mix. IOW, when some programs on a particular station are listed as being in HD and other are not listed as HD, they usually are correct almost 100% of the time. When the guide is wrong it is usually on stations in which they list everything in HD or nothing in HD, like CMT and TBS.
Also, keep in mind that some of the programming on CCHD that you thought was upconverted (I remember several of us debating you) actually was in HD.
