LPB on 87W?

OK, something must have just happened, as 11804 is now at 87-88 (was 60-61 at 10:50ET this morning) and LPB is now at 63-64 (was at 37-38). Still cloudy here.

Hopefully, it means they have corrected the problem!

Well here's my signal report from here in New Mexico! :)

SBG TX 1 Freq, 11.749 GHz, H 8.399 MBs
2/1 the signal is hot and sometimes pinning the meter 83 to 85% on GeoSat reciever! They just went off the air.

DC ch. 11.761 GHz, H 2.686 MBs 3/4, 70%.

Ch.2 medical channel 11.802 GHz, H 2.686 MBs 7/8, 71%

LPBS is at 46 to 58%

CNN's feeds 11.960 GHz, H 29.269 MBs 3/4, 72%.

FL ch. 12.046 GHz, V 3.199 MBs 2/3, 74%.

FL, Lottery 12.050 GHz, V 4.799 MBs 2/3, 56 to 65 %.

The weather here in New Mexico is crappy dreary and cold, no rain or snow yet, just high clouds.:hatsoff

Whatever the reason, they're certainly stronger now:

11801: 11.1 dB
11804: 13.4 dB
Patient: 11.6 dB
Newsource: 7.6 dB
Florida: 14.0 dB

Sent from my SM-G950W using the SatelliteGuys app!
Same here, LPB is back and all are nice and strong at the moment. :)

Patient Channel: 12.2 dB
Newsource: 9.5 dB
Florida Channel: 12.4 dB
LPB Mux: 11.0 dB
LPB Test: 13.4 dB

Here's the 2nd update on this bird,

DC ch. 70%

LPBS 0 to 35 bouncing around like crazy, but locks in nicely with no break ups.

CNN's feeds 75%

Fl ch. 70%

Fl Lottery 28 to 39%

2 stations did not lock in and had to punch in manually listed are...

Ch. 8, 11.805 GHz, H 72 to 73 a LPBS test card.

Medical channel 71%

So basically the signal varies greatly on certain stations. :hatsoff

Seeing some variations here, some stronger, some weaker, since my 2:07ET post:
11761 - 58-59 (was 60)
11801 - 82 (was 75-76)
11804 - 82 (was 90-91)
11812 - 57-58 (was 68)
11961 - 66 (was 50-51)
12045 - 80-81 (was 92)
12050 - 64 (was 75)

Even with a drop of 10 for LPB, it is still 20 above pixelation/drop off level, so all good if it stays within these parameters even with the fluctuations.

Just to let you all know I have been noticing past month overall cxr level from Louisiana Teleport was very low peaking around 40-45 C/N level. (1 meter channel master HDVR 3500 GeoSat) as of yesterday Mon 12-15 it is now back up to full power (85-87%) The test carrier @ 11804H S/R 1.250 which is usually higher (normally around 95-97% was only at 75-80) It looks like maybe maintenance work done on antenna or HPA. Anyone with dish less than 1 meter may have a problem receive LPB due to low carrier level. I never had an issue receiving mux with 1meter antenna and proper peak.

As far as other H down feeds Sinclair 11747 S/R 8.4 does fluctuate sometimes. Bear in mind the CNN transponders either H or V polarities will have marginal levels due to 5 mhz carrier levels. Sometimes lower sometimes higher. If someone can correct me on this I believe SES2 spacecraft transponder power is 90 watts good for 36" antenna receive. Also it also depends if transponder itself has padding or attenuation provided per customer request.

I seem to be on the ragged edge of receiving LPB. I'm getting between 8.1 and 8.3 dB using USALS positioning. tvrosat says I need 8.5 dB. I'm using a 1.2 meter dish that is peaked as much as I can get. The footprint map shows that I'm in the 50-51 dBW signal strength range. So, I changed from USALS to diseqc 1.2 and got the signal level up to 9 dB. That should stabilize the signal until the next snow or rainstorm hits. I was expecting to get better performance out of this dish though.

Have you tried it with the dish fixed on 87, no motor? That signal is finicky.
