they were added today, but they dont look hd. i have to put the tv in partial format for it to feel the screen.treid to watch all the prime time shows that i knew were in hd but thats how they looked. does it take them time to adjust?
ans also no hd fox or cw.is that to be expected? just nbc, abc, and cbs

Might try pressing the star key at bottom of remote it will change the screen size also....for HD you will want it set to normal

It could be that the network did not feed them the HD feed, as for FOX, I don't know about Missoula but the FOX station in Great Falls has not even gone digital, let alone HD. But eventually they should all get there.:)

I did that thats how i got it to partial zoom:rolleyes: to fill the screen instead of the normal that it should be for HD. all i know is lost was broadcast in HD but that wasnt what we were seeing.neither was csi ny. but today i noticed, that the today show was,so who knows:confused:

Edited to say that after going back and checking csi ny that i dvr'ed it was in HD. But "Lost: wasnt on ABC

Hey, just a quick question:
I'm in Bozeman and have 'moved' to Missoula (Mariners baseball on Fox NW).

I can get the SD locals but not the HD locals - I just get a message screen.

Are YOU getting actual programming on the HD Channels?

Anyone have an idea if a 30" dish would bring them in if I too far from the spotbeam?

Thanks a bunch!

If you're in Bozeman, I think you might be too far to the edge of the spotbeam to get the HD channels. I'm in Helena and was planning to make the "move" because I think I'm close enough.

Bozeman/Butte is scheduled to go HD something in Q2, so hopefully some other parts of the state will start to get some HD coverage.

Look into Idaho Falls - you can get them. I'm interested in Missoula for the PNW Fox sports - Mariner baseball.

I just wonder if I had a 39" or 48" dish if I could pick up enough extra to get the spot beam.

Thanks for the reply.

Thank you very much.

I'm very much on the fringe of SB 11 - I wonder if a 39" or 48" dedicated 129 dish would pick up the SB 11 signal?

If you are near the yellow, you might need only a 30-incher. Check your signal strength on 129W for the transponder the locals are on. You might be OK with just a 1000.2. Click on The List tab at the top of the page, then "subscription list home, then 129W, and scroll down to find the market and the transponder it is on.

nope they're not even in digital

3 of the 4 Fox Networks (KMMF in Missoula, KBTZ in Butte & KLMN in Great Falls) are owned by Equity Broadcasting in Little Rock, AR. They filed Chapter 11 late last year and as of January was trying (when the cutoff was 2/17) to get the FCC to give them a 6 month extension to get their digital signal up because of the bankruptcy.

So it may be a while.....By the way the only Fox that is not owned by them is the one in Hardin/Billings

Missoula is on transponder 6 and I have a signal strength of 45 with:
Locked - name not aquired...

Am I close?

Anyone know if the Billings HD locals will ever get to Dish. I believe they could be the last possible HD locals to be put on Dish. I live in northern Wyoming and cannot get them off air as we have a mountain in the way.

Just figured I'd confirm: The Missoula locals (at least NBC and CBS, possibly ABC, tho as far as I was aware KTMF was not HD yet, even though dish says it's in HD) are broadcast in HD over Dish now. I'm watching the Nightly News now, flipping back and forth between the over the air feed and the dish feed, while the dish feed is lesser quaility it's definitely 16:9, and HD. My aspect mode on the dish receiver is set to normal.

Yep,CBS,NBC,and ABC are up and working:) im a veeeery happy dish customer.Thank you dish.
now about fox,fx,cw,and cmt,,,,,,lol

If it is locked and says "spotbeam" in the column where it said Transponder beforeand you have a signal strength of 45, you should pick up that market with no problems as is. If you leave it on that transponder it should eventually chane to say Locked Echostar 129W.

922 + Verizon = Churn?
