Making grinding noise. Won’t fully boot. Can I swap Joey 4 from bedroom to living room, or does it need to see the hopper. Thanks

It needs to see the hopper as everything is being served off the Hopper.

Hard drive failures are not common thankfully.

When a hard drive fails you are still about to watch tv on the Hopper But you don’t have all the features.

Hopefully dish can get someone out there fast to replace it for you.

Regular TV does not come up. I have the PLUS, says it can’t connect to hopper. If I remove the plus will it boot up to live TV do you think? It does not get past the second line in the boot up process.

Unhook the Plus and hook the HDMI directly to the Hopper. It may take 20 minutes or so for it to come out of Hopper Plus mode. But you should be able to watch TV.
