I have a Pansat 9200 HD receiver that I use with the Invacom QPH-031 LNBF. The QPH-031 has linear and circular outputs. I have only used the linear outputs until today.

I tried for the first time to access Echostar 10/11 at 110W. There are some free channels there. I pointed the dish to the satellite(s). I disconnected the cable from the linear output that passes through the motor. I connected a second cable from the circular output that bypasses the motor.

The problem is that my receiver doesn't seem to recognize circular polarity. Even though Echo 10/11 was in my receiver's menu of satellites there is only the option of "V," "H," or "All." There is no "L" or "R" option.

Anyways, I went ahead with a blind scan and came up with 314 paid channels but no free ones. Also, none of the channel frequencies match those at lyngsat.com which are:

Echo 10 Echo 11
12268 L 12224 R
12384 L 12239 L
12472 L 12253 R
12501 L 12282 R
12545 R 12297 L
12574 R 12311 R
12588 L 12326 L
12603 R 12341 R
12632 R 12355 L
12661 R 12370 R
12399 R
12414 L
12428 R
12443 L
12457 R
12486 R

The channels I'm picking up with blind scan have the following frequencies:

12240 H
12299 H
12327 H
12356 H
12415 H
12444 H
12532 H
12560 H
12224 V
12254 V
12284 V
12343 V
12371 V
12430 V
12516 V
12575 V
12634 V

There is no match between the frequencies found and the frequencies at lyngsat.com. The signal quality of the channels I found is amazing but I cannot watch anything because they are all paid.

Could it be that my Pansat just doesn't do circular? Can somebody help me figure out what is going on?

Thanks.

Jaco

Do you get signal/quality on the channels it scanned in? If so, then there probably isn't anything wrong with it. I wouldn't rely on lyngsat too much for US stuff, they only get what people send them from over here. Dish likely has changed frequencies a few times since they posted whatever they have listed.

Jasco,

For basics, on most circular lnb's right=vert 13v. left=horz 18v.
Don't know about your exact lnb, but the circulars I've used call for a lnb oscillator setting of 11250 in your sat setup.

Also I don't think there is any channels in the clear on 110w. The place is air tight.

when dealing with circular polarity, think "RV"

right handed polarity is the same as vertical, left handed is horizontal.

As for the frequencies if they are off by 1 or 2 thats OK. You say you got 12240, DIsh is 12239. If you blind scanned it might be off

Thirdly I dont think there are any freebie channels anymore on 110. 119 might have Dish 101 but the rest have been scrambled

it is normal for the frequencies to be off by one or two when you blind scan,

TP 12224 might blind scan in as 12225 just as an example,

its normal and nothing to worry about
