I have talked my neighbor into becoming a Dish Network "Happy Camper" like myself.

They asked me a question I was not sure I could answer and need the help of you experts.

They do not have a HDTV set as of now but will have a dish installed before they settle on a HDTV set. Should they have the standard dish installed and decide six months from now to upgrade to HD, would a second dish be required for the HD programming or would their current one be replaced with a combination SD and HD version?

Thanks.

They can't do an upgrade for one year... That being said, I would get an HD rcvr now and dish for HD (1000.2) now if their plans are to go to HD in the near future. When your HD rcvr signal hits your standard def TV the signal will be converted to standard def and you'll see all of your programming.
