Guess my Google connection is better... :D

SatControl SM3D22
Stab HH120
Aston TracSat DH23
SatSeeker DS200

Not really. Seen them. The DS200 would be fine for my C-band dish if it's still available - but I'm looking for something to replace the SG2100. The SM3D22 is discontiued - the link at Sadoun was to motors non-diseqc 2.x. The HH120 doesn't use 2.x protocol. DH23 links to non-english sources.

Just did quick look on Google for a method to move the dish from the command line. Found this link:

http://www.linuxtv.org/pipermail/linux-dvb/2006-October/013435.html

I didn't follow it out, but might worth a go to see if you can move it outside of Kaffeine.

Well, I downloaded the app they mentioned but couldn't get it to compile. Looks like I'm missing libraries. Found one but not the other(s). I don't see anything on the developers website that says what the system requirements are - I'm not surprised. Too many issues. It shouldn't be this difficult to get this thing to work. Even the dvb utilities like w_scan don't "cut-it" either. Blind scanning seems to be a problem also. But, I'll keep plugging along. I don't have anything better to do - yeah right.

SM3D22 appears to still be in production. The manufacturer may have a newer 2.x compatible model. http://www.sat-control.net/satellite_motors/satellite_motors/sm3d22.html
Stab HH120 Motors were DiSEqC 2.3 compatible when we provided the North American warranty and repair center service. You might want to verify with them if this has changed. Beware, they also speak Italian. :)

I stopped being lazy and climbed the tower to see if I could manually move the dish with the SG2100. Green light was on, pushed the manual button, no movement, after a few seconds the light turned red indicating a limit or overcurrent issue. Last time this happened the dish moved west of 0 but not east - turned out to be a software limit problem but I don't think so this time since I can't get it to move east or west this time. I don't think the software limits are stored in the motor but in the PC or STB? If not stored in the motor, it has to be the motor since I powered the motor with my Birdog. I can't imagine both east and west hardware limits changing at the same time. Wish I had a spare motor for testing. This project is on hold. Maybe I'll find a 2.x motor at a reasonable price?

http://www.sat-control.net/satellite_motors/satellite_motors/sm3d22.html appears to be down. I know that I can get the HH120 here but I haven't found any U.S. distributors for the Aston TracSat DH23.

The Europeans seem to really love their DVB systems. I'm surprised it hasn't taken off here.

Tune-s2 will move a motor from the command line. It requires my kernel but can be converted so it doesn't. If you are looking for something that is similar to tsreader and crazyscan all in one then you can use updatedvb with my kernel as well.

This is an e-mail I got from Sadoun:

There is no DiSEqC 2.0 compliant motor. This designation is reserved for switches not motors.
Currently we have these motors:

If you asked Sadoun if he carried DiSEqC 2.0 motors, I would agree with Jamal that DiSEqC 2.0 is typically only used as a switch protocol. DiSEqC 2.x is not only limited to switches. It is also implemented in LNBs and motors.

As I have shared with you in several past posts, DiSEqC 2.2 and 2.3 component implantation is extremely limited, but it is implemented.

You may be interested in this Eutelsat document defining the DiSEqC specification. Of particular interest will be 9.5, 9.7, 9.8 and 9.9. http://www.eutelsat.com/files/contributed/satellites/pdf/Diseqc/Reference docs/bus_spec.pdf

Did someone hack my account? I never write like this.
Just looked at the logs.
Everything you posted all came from the same IP address.
So if you are hacked they are hacked into and using your computer to send the posts.

Based on the little that I've read, it appears that motors and LNB's could implement the 2.x standard. It seems that this 2.x standard would help greatly with receiver setup as well as rotor/motor control. Having the LNBF report back it's status to the receiver would be beneficial also.

I run a tight ship here but I don't always look at my logs. Oh well, not even the government can stop all hacking on their websites. Hmm, maybe my son snuck in and posted something.

Yes, they connect to the victims computer and conduct transactions that would appear to come from that IP, not their own. Thats how they evade detection.

If I were you, johnynobody, I would disconnect my computer from the internet ASAP and either remove the malware or re-install the O.S.

If you have been on Sadoun's forum, it has been hacked before. I would check things over or do like N6BY suggested, unless you find out it was your son or something who posted that.
