Hi all.. While I have been a Dish customer for over 12 years I finally found a deal on a group of 625's and upgraded my 4 508's So now I have a new set of problems to whine about.

I have 4 625's so 1 at each location, so no need for TV2 to go out to any place extra. I plan to just use Tuner 2 for recording shows and PIP. WIht that said I want then remote 1 to be UHF not all my boxes are in line of sight for IR. I tried everything even broke down anad called Dish (what a joke) I have chnaged teh setting and enable UHF Pro. I then (per dish) went to the info screen and pressed record button to change the address on teh reciever to match remote, oh ya we changed teh chip in the remote to a green chip with #1 UHF Pro on it. The info screen never changed from IR on TV 1 after 4 reps at Dish one of them "tested it" there and siad with that remote and a 625 her's changed just fine doing those steps. you must have a bad remote so they are sending a new one. While I always like free stuff I have 4 meotes all of which are 6.3 IR/UHF PRO none of them will change TV to UHF on any of the 4 boxes.

So does anyone know how to really change the TV to UHF control?

If all of the 625's are in 'single' mode, you don't really need to enable UHF Pro. Just use the no. 2 remote (blue chip). You just have to have different remote address on all four boxes (which you probably did with your 508's)

Dumb question---Did you access the info screen via the button on the receiver or by using the remote? The info screen must be brought up by the button initially before it'll change TV1 to UHF/IR Pro. It won't change if you brought the screen up with the remote.
Told ya it wuz a dumb question.........

I had infinite grief getting my spare UHF/Pro 6.0 to work with TV1 on my 625 until I read the FAQ on remotes on this website. Somewhere buried therein was a post by Pepper which explained what was wrong. Dish couldn't help me either, and they wound up sending me a new 6.3 remote for free which I didn't really need.

Anyhow, realize that 625s ship with the same remote address code (channel 1) for both TV1 and TV2. The only way it has to determine which remote is sending it signals is whether it's IR-only or UHF-only. :( You can try to change TV1 to UHF + IR while changing the address simultaneously. But I never got it to "stick" until I got the TV2 address out of the way first.

TV1 is address 3 while TV2 is address 5

With Dish we did access the info screen with the reciever button and the remote menu process no such luck either way.

When it goes in to UHF mode will teh INFO screen change from IR to UHF by TV1?

Remote 2 should control tuner 1 if you're in Single mode... and if you want PiP and swap functions you have to be in Single mode.

But yes, it will change from IR to UHF for TV-1 on the info screen

Yes it is in Single mode.

Question, this all new to me 2 tuners how fancy... Any how.

Will remote 2 control tuner 1 wil conected to tuner 1 or do you mean remote 2 will control the tuner but I need to be connected to Tuner 2 on teh TV?

I am currently connect to Tuner 1 while I can go the guide and schedule things to Record on Tuner 2 if i sitch to #2 remote I can not get it to do anything other then make the icon flash in SYS INFO mode.

I would reset receiver first, it's acting like it is in dual mode? maybe a reset will help. Then go into sys info and

Using the Green Indicator Tab remote, arrow up to highlight the Primary Remote Address.
Put the Green UHF Pro Indicator Tab with the green number "1" in the Replacement Remote.
Address the remote so that it is different then the Secondary Remote Address currently set for TV2 then press record button
Once addressed by the Green UHF Pro remote, the Primary Remote Address for TV1 should change and include the words "IR and UHF Pro".
Note: If the Primary and Secondary remote addresses are the same when doing this procedure, Error 590 will appear and you will not be able to continue the process.
