The big question I have that never gets answered is...

Will New Orleans ever get HD locals?

It would be nice to not have to mess with the small antenna on my bedroom HDTV anymore.

Well since i'm hearing that the MTV networks aren't really don't HD. Probably best to skip them.

Though i'm sure at least 2 will be Showtime, my personal list would look like:

Spike
E!
F/X
Fox News
Comedy Central
Nick
Style

Scott or some other extremely knowledgeable types:

When will we know the fate of the new TMP channels? Friday? Monday? I'm getting anxious.

My #1 bet would be more Cinemax's (e.g., MoreMax) as Dish and Warner get along pretty well.

My #2 guess would be more Showtimes (Dish and CBS/Paramount get along okay).

My #3 guess would be the Viacom channels (Dish and Viacom aren't fighting yet?).

#4 would be the E!/Style/Comcast Tri-fecta.

#5 would be Rainbow stuff (AMC, IFC, We?)

#6 would be the return of Voom :p

#7 would be Wealth/HSN and/or other indies!

#8 would finally be the Fox stuff just so that rabid bunch (Seriously, y'all are worse than the Voomers!) would have one less complaint.

I have no basis for saying this other than I don't think it has been said, so if I am right I am the only winner so far:

The seven channels will be part time RSNs going full time.

No new programming. None.

That's my lump-of-coal prediction.

Pepper: Thanks for the link. I had no idea any networks were so lowbrow that they had the nerve to pre-stretch SD programming when idiot consumers are free to do it at home on their TV. I feel kind of sick.

Prestretching is the devil.

Number 6 would be excellent but at least the return of MonstersHD & RaveHD so I can sleep at night again without drinking. :)

Not that it makes a difference, but I believe that a lot of SD programming on HD channels is actually 'Panoramaed' and not Stretched...

But the complaint still holds regardless.

The only new HD channel discussed in this thread that would get me to click my remote is Fox News. I'm otherwise satisfied with the HD Essentials and Cinemax/Starz HD channels I currently get. Give me Fox News and then offer HD Only to existing subscribers and so long Dish SD.
