I suppose it is about time for the notices to go out for states that require a 30 day notice of price increases.

Is that why some people get an email and others don't? I never seem to get anything for my personal account. I usually find out on here or from a retailer chat.

It's amazing what things I find out here first when I'm a retailer and should be notified by Dish before the public. One of the best reasons to be a member here.

I suppose they do not want to scare existing customers if they are not required to do so. They are probably banking on a lot not even noticing that there was a price increase if they did not have to announce it. Autopay has its advantages for companies.

I don't now if Illinois requires any pre-announcement, but I have gotten these kinds of email in the past from Dish. Never did from DirecTV when I had them.

But if the bill only increases by $5/month for me, I'll be fine with it. I had actually expected a higher increase.

I don't mind a $5 increase, but that combined with the expiring $10 credit on the AEP price increase last year is going to cause me to drop tothe A250 package.

I haven't got the email myself yet.

As of last week I know that some of the new pricing was NOT finalized yet. I am working with DISH and once they finish nailing down the pricing I will post it here.

Well now that my fantasy football leagues will all be over after this weekend I won't need NFL Redzone anymore. I was planning on dropping my half off Multisport next week anyways. The February price increase means my bill will pretty much stay the same once multisport is gone. I think I'll drop down to AT120 at the same time to save $15 per month until baseball season starts back up.

I wasn't planning on doing that but this price increase is a good incentive. I will miss MLB Network in the meantime but I don't have much time to watch TV during tax season anyways. I will also miss the occasional Red Wings and Pistons games on FS Detroit and college basketball on Big Ten Network. I'm not as much of a hardcore fan of any of those teams as I am with the Tigers where I need to see them every night though. Thanks to my parents AT250 account, their sling adapter, my iPad and Apple TV I will be able to sling any game I want to watch until spring anyways.

Yea, $5 next year, another $5 the year after.

Top120 used to be $19.99 as an everyday price 8 years ago. When is the bleeding and greed going to stop?

Im sure Directv will raise their rates also, so this is NOT an anti-Dish post.

I have the simple answer that is so true. When we all stop using services we think are overpriced. Until that happens the increases will keep on coming.

The bleeding and greed will not stop as long as the programmers know they can raise prices at will and force DBS/Cable to pay.

maybe not. Directv usually does 2 or 3 buck increases (they have the last 3 years)

I don't remember them being that low, but won't argue the point.

but there have been some stories earlier in the year that lead one to believe they'll be bigger than that this time.

Here's D*'s support page about rates increases the last time. Average 4.5%

And of course they also changed the HD/DVR/Whole Home to $25 which was a $10 increase on top of that.
