I am wonder if the sports pack will be required outside the SEC territory. Living in Minnesota and a die hard Dawgs fan, just want to be in from the beginning.

I wonder the same thing. Sometimes I don't get channels that I would think I should get for UK basketball, like Fox Sports South.

So it's looking like Verizon FIOS will in fact be the ONLY provider not carrying the SEC Network at launch. CenturyLink announced on 8/1 and Charter looks like it will be announcing any day now. So that just leaves Verizon FIOS. And what's worse is Verizon hasn't said a word on the issue in weeks if not months. The last I read Verizon said they were confident they would carry the channel, but didn't say if they planned on carrying it by launch. I know were all Directv customers, but if I were a FIOS customer and I saw that now EVERY OTHER provider now offers the SEC Network and with only a few days left I would be so mad. In fact I would be switching if an announcement wasn't made by the end of this week. (Just some of my random banter.)

This is awesome. Now get WatchESPN and they will have everything i need. I have to use one of my family's FIOS login's currently to get it. :(

I have still not heard anything about Longhorn Network on DIRECTV. If I do I will post it.

and yet 2 people at other site say its coming the end of the month on channel 609. i wouldn't put much stock into it but one of the two knew what channel sec network was going on sunday afternoon.

It could be a case that the folks here at ESPN that I deal withdon't have anything to do with Longhorn Network.

As I said if I hear something I will post it.

The steers aren't in the SEC If they add it
I hope it's sports pack or a la carte' only
I'd rather not have any of my bill go to TU

The same should have been done with the sec. I would rather my Dish bill didn't go up because of it, but it did anyway and everyone has to pay for it when it should have been in multisport or alacarte.

This makes it available in over 87 million homes now with Charter, and possibly FIOS to come. That is a HUGE launch number for any type of network.

As a sports fan I am thrilled with how Slive handled our network launch.
As a pay tv provider sub.....not as much as I know this will eventually be one of the factors used to raise our rates (the rates that would have gone up anyway).
That said, being that sports is one of the few things that I am not that reluctant to pay for when it comes to tv, im "more ok" with it than I would be with other channels.

Charter would lose alot of customers without SEC Network. Glad Directv signed up. Now the waiting game for what it will cost us folks not in the SEC Territory.

As for the PAC12 and Longhorn Networks, they don't pull the weight SEC teams do. Alot of people would have jumped ship without the SEC Network.
