Smallest EMWIN antenna

Is that demodulator plugin available somewhere? It looks very similar to the meteor demodulator but I can't find the one in your screenshot on his site.

I think it's somewhere here: http://rtl-sdr.ru/page/vse-dostupnye-na-etom-sajte-plaginy-s-kratkim-opisaniem

But might be a special version, i am sure you can find it by asking around (on airspy irc channel). It will give you demod but not decode, but is handy to see quality of signal for QPSK or OQPSK.

some rig porn. (Dish, mount and LNA).

I rotated it to some small degree. That might be part of the problem is that it is not rotated quite correctly. Also, I too cannot find that sdrsharp plugin either and it would be QUITE useful for troubleshooting purposes.

This is the result after making some improvements to the mounting system and peaking on the antenna.
I do definitely have a noise issue I am not sure if it is power lines or a streetlight or both or something else.
I did alittle bit of work on the noise issue and noticed that if i move my hand around the reflector (dish) I can eliminate the noise.

I will go ahead and take an additional recording with a smaller file size and post the link to that shortly.

From what you can tell does the signal look improved any now?

That does look better to me. Get a recording and I will run it though again.

Working on it. Doing my best not to waste your time since I realize it is valuable by doing some due diligence before sending you another recording.

I got it off ebay. it would seem to be a down east microwave unit with an atf10135 transistor. Had it awhile now. I have been waiting a loooong time to be able to have a working emwin setup.

Man,,,I know that feeling!!!......Like 25 years!!!...haha.
Maybe soon,,,,altho....I have a dish like urs so don't have alot of hope.

I wouldn't give up hope Just yet Trip - it's all going to come down to a clear view of the satellite, proper peaking of your dish and a very efficient LNA and low loss, high quality shielded cabling. The margins are kind of tight but I think it is very dooable. Now if you have trees in the way - probably not gonna happen with a 1m dish grid parabolic or otherwise.

No trees in the way...and I have a "LNA4ALL" enroute(per Joe)....Joe said my recording/signal was about 2db low so maybe the
LNA will push it over the top. Altho I would like a little headroom for rain/weather/etc. I see a few 6-8' BUD's in my area so if I can
score one of those I would be in the green!! BUT...If I do that....the YL will not let me have it near the house...so....then I will need
a LNB...more money!! Don't worry...I have not given up yet :)

I had time to check the first file. Pretty good. Decoder likes it. It's not error free but again, pretty good. Here are the files that were in that recorded signal:

There was one radar GIF but the recording was not long enough to get it all.

The signal absence any noise/interference would be good enough for normal operation. There still is occasional disruption that will cause one CCSDS packet to be lost whenever it happens. I will see about trying to increase the decoder sensitivity just a bit more to compensate. I will also check out the other file tonight.

Awesome. My signal was at least that good. Can't wait to get this all setup once the software is available! Very excited to be able to use an airspy for this. I can finally get rid of my USRP.
