Solid SD tuner with PVR I can find used on Ebay?

So until Geosat MicroHD comes out, I want to start playing with another cheaper unit I can sell off later that is not overly buggy.

What would you suggest?

I tried couple of units someone suggested in another thread I started for my setup in general, but none were available on E-bay

I like my Pansat 3500 for aiming a dish, but with the popularity of HD, dolby audio and S2, it's pretty limited. Just looked and S10's, which are showing quality issues along with the rest of the Openbox fleet, are listed about the same price as the 3500.
Oh, 3500 is NON PVR.

coolsat 6100 and an external hard drive. It works very nice. You can transfer the movies to a pc and play with VLC with mpeg-ts enabled

A used Openbox S9 (I paid $50 locally / no shipping cost) with external hard disk and PVR-capable firmware (allows timer to work) would give you something to temporarily play with. I wouldn't buy a new one though (too expensive: better to wait for microHD).
