'Suits' Firm Adds a New Partner https://www.yahoo.com/tv/suits-firm-adds-a-new-partner-120192447935.html
With less than a month until the Season 5 premiere of USA’s Suits, Pearson Specter Litt is growing. The Last Ship’s John Pyper-Ferguson has been cast in the recurring role of Jack Soloff, an up-and-coming partner. “He’s not new to the firm, but he’s new to the audience,” creator Aaron Korsh says. “He’s been voted head of the compensation committee, and that puts him in a position, in his mind, to raise his profile with the firm and seek a little increased power, and that’s going to cause trouble. Given what had already happened at the end of last year, it’s just an added element of tension, drama, et cetera, for our crew.”Pyper-Ferguson will make his debut in the June 24 season premiere, which finds Harvey (Gabriel Macht) still in denial about needing a new secretary now that Donna (Sarah Rafferty) has left him to work for Louis (Rick Hoffman). “We explore what happens to each one of them when this shift has occurred,” Korsh says of the trio. “There can be jealousy, anger, bitterness, forgiveness, humor — so they ping-pong between those things in the space of what’s also going on at the firm.”Season 5 of Suits premieres June 24 at 9 p.m. on USA.

Suits "Hitting Home" Review: Just Like Mom Used to Make https://www.yahoo.com/tv/s/suits-talk-hitting-home-140800167.html
I love this season so mu-uh-uch. Suits is exploring the human trainwreck that is Harvey Specter on a level that we haven't experienced before while continuing to maintain the series' special brand of ridiculous that we love so much, those beautiful bastards. This week, Harvey punched Louis in the face after Louis confronted him about sexing with his sister because, like Harvey said, "Louis is basically a 4-year-old." Of course, what Harvey failed to mention to Hot Shrink is that he is also basically a 4-year-old. With mommy issues. So many mommy issues."Hitting Home" opened with a flashback to that-time-Harvey-caught-his-mom-banging-her-"cousin," complete with that look that says, "Bambi just watched his mom get wasted by that hunter," and the implication that Harvey was a problem child who the other kids tormented. After all, you can't be a habitual dick on TV these days without a sad and sympathetic back story to justify it. Also: bullying is bad—but also trendy.

Suits "Mea Culpa" Review: That Time of the Year Again https://www.yahoo.com/tv/s/suits-lets-chat-mea-culpa-140800391.html
I don't know if Louis can come back from this one. I'm sure he will, because it's Suits and it's Louis and even Travis Tanner got to redeem himself eventually, but wow. I was sincerely shocked by the turn this episode took, and I loved every minute of everything that didn't involve Mike. It's not a real season of Suits unless Mike's secret threatens everyone's career. This time, it was an old flame who just so happened to be the client on Mike's first case as a junior partner, because I guess Suits isn't aware of how big a city with a population of 8 million actually is. Oh, and now we have a wedding crisis on top of the usual career crisis. Maybe if Mike could stop being a pathological liar for like, 10 minutes, then maybe his life would stop falling apart every season. It's giving me a freaking ulcer. At least we got some seriously BAMF Rachel action, though... until she started crying about her great and tragic love for the office con artist who really had no business asking his fiancée to be his associate anyway. How was that NOT going to end in disaster, and, apparently, calling the whole wedding thing off? RUN AWAY, RACHEL, RUN FAR AWAY. Mike is going to ruin her life, but it's okay, because she loves him.

Suits "Uninvited Guests" Review: My Big Fat Bleak Wedding https://www.yahoo.com/tv/s/suits-did-uninvited-guests-welcoming-140800783.html
So wow, Rachel's mom is the worst. I really appreciated the fact that every time she was on the screen she had a glass of wine in her hand and a glazed over look on her face, like a low-rent Mallory Archer, just to reinforce the notion that the woman is a mom-zilla.In Suits' latest attempt to make us give a crap about Mike and Rachel's wedding, Rachel shocked the mom-zilla when she refused to announce her impending nuptials in the Times and pushed to have their swanky Harvard-laden guest-list trimmed down to people who won't totally call Mike on his B.S. charade of a life. Mom called B.S. on Rachel's pleas and also invoked decades-old bitterness about how Papa Zane robbed her of her own big swanky society wedding when he made them elope because she's the kind of upper-crust lush that only years of getting swag instead of emotional support can breed. She's the worst.
