If they can slim it down some, I would consider it for a laptop replacement.

To me the biggest issue is battery life. If I could get iPad battery life on one, I'd probably pick one up. Having full office in a compact form factor would be really useful. The second biggest issue is weight. Compared to an iPad air, the surface pro 2 weighs a ton. Given that, it leaves me wondering if an ultra book wouldn't be better bang for the buck.

Considering it is more of a laptop than an iPad, if they managed 6-8 hours it would be good.
 
Don't think it will be much since you can probably just do a upgrade.
 
Just like Apple and Microsoft have so we might be getting a smarter home before to long..
