[FONT=Arial,sans-serif]Well, KMTP's OTA coverage is using Sutro Tower in SF which is 2.5 million watts so maybe I can hookup an OTA DTV converter box and antenna and add the channel back that way but will need to see if it will reach South San Jose. [/FONT]

I am betting that these channels for the locals are just being used to test the spotbeams if they are indeed on spotbeams. I see a lot of markets that are on eastern arc, like the Beaumont, Tx area. Funny that KFDM is in hd on the ceil sat but not in hd on eastern arc. This leads me to think either that they are indeed just testing. I haven't seen anything that says that DISH and KFDM has settled their retransmission dispute. ALso haven't seen the hd version of KFDM uplinked on eastern arc 61.5 sat . Either that or DISH plans to duplicate a lot of locals so they don't have to change out the dish 1000.2 sat dishes that are already installed. Especially since they have so much room for spotbeams on the new Ceil sat.

I think it's likely the latter.

Yes, but KMTP did broadcast multicultural programming that are not on 9 and 54.

They took down secondary PBS stations in NYC and Philadelphia too. I know the Philadelphia one had lots of independent programming, I never checked on the NY one.

If I count correctly, something like 40-50 spot markets on Ciel and some of the conus local markets presently on E5 still missing. Lots of capacity still remaining. More to come.

I didn't have a chance to go through a number the spotbeams yet, probably going to wait till the next round of locals anyways before I take the time to do it.

I did correct the table with the transponder IDs but the post is too large to edit. It keeps timing out ;)

The locations on TheList are now correct as far as I can tell. Here's a look at 129 right now:

Huh oh... I found something interesting on 61.5. Pure speculation here... butttttt...

The transponder with the LTD's... the ones that usually have the slates when a channel is taken down is also mapped to channels 125, 134, and 164.

124 is BET...owned by Viacom.

133 is Fox Movies... Viacom too?

163 VH1 Classic... Viacom.

Something smells fishy. Is that what Scott's Avatar means?

Fox movies is not Viacom. But interesting find. :)

I still find this OFFICIAL screen shot from Dish interesting for the new 922. It shows FX HD.... hmmm Does not carry FX HD. :D

I'm in San Jose and receive KMTP's OTA digital channels fine using an outdoor antenna.

SatelliteGuys.US DishNetwork Uplink Activity Report - 1/14/2009 10:40pm - 418 changes

Channel Additions:
4500 - WSB [MPEG4 HD] added to Ciel-2 129W TP 4 Spotbeam ?? (NA)(Atlanta, GA)
4501 - WGCL [MPEG4 HD] added to Ciel-2 129W TP 4 Spotbeam ?? (NA)(Atlanta, GA)
4502 - WXIA [MPEG4 HD] added to Ciel-2 129W TP 4 Spotbeam ?? (NA)(Atlanta, GA)
4503 - WAGA [MPEG4 HD] added to Ciel-2 129W TP 4 Spotbeam ?? (NA)(Atlanta, GA)
4504 - WPCH [MPEG4 HD] added to Ciel-2 129W TP 4 Spotbeam ?? (NA)(Atlanta, GA)

What if someone has "moved" to Atlanta and a signal check shows they can still hit TP4? Does that mean they'll be fine? Or are the "movers" hosed?
