Vegas, the sports town?

Screw the A's and their owner John Fisher. They should be playing their next 3 seasons at the AAA ballpark in (Summerlin) Vegas, and begin developing their fan base there, not in Sacramento. They have zero regard for their fans.

The same type of people who would have rather not seen Allegiant Stadium or Terminal 3 at LAS lose in court for perhaps a final time to prevent the A's from receiving their tax credits (if the project even happens). There is no schools bill that wasn't funded because of the effort to bring the Athletics to town. Just like there wasn't some $750b out there that schools and other causes missed out on because Allegiant Stadium was built.

Didn't they start demolition of the Tropicana?

Yes, regardless of the outcome of the effort for the Athletics to build a stadium, Bally's will be doing something else w/ the Tropicana site and that hotel is done.

Bally's and the Athletics are still hashing out many details about the footprint and layout of the site while the Athletics continue to work on financing for the balance of the deal.
