So now that a bunch of old technology is going away in the next two months, what can be activated on the eastern arc?

From what I understand the 311k might not work on the eastern arc or is that not true. Also will a Dish 500 have no value after transition to eastern arc?

And although someone can machine something else, the dish would technically be a 1000.4EA or a 1000.2EA dish.

Thanks guys for the info. Hopefully this topic is useful to someone else.

I almost picked up a 311k for cheap but it would have been worthless if I wanted to get my locals.

On the Dish 500 note I know of a strange set up where the person has two dish 500s with legacy LNBs. One dish points to 110 119 and the other has one LNB pointing to 61.5(my guess). They are probably ok right?

No. Missing channels. They should point to 129, not 61.5

Or EA, 61.5 & 72.

A D500 works here in northern MA for picking up 61.5/72.7

Signal strengths are a little reduced from a 1000.2EA, but it works.

a 311 or a 311K?
a 311 is a single tuner SD only unit
a 311K is a neutered 322. They removed the outputs for TV2 and setup is a bear because there are 2 sat inputs but you only need one
