To some customers it's not about price because they know it would increase anyway

It's about programming and their favorite shows which trumps to a degree about equipment being used.

More about knowing what channel is that show on and less about how menu's look, other than to set timers and watch recordings.

There is no question that dish has many more channel drops or pulls than dtv.I wouldn't mind as much if it actually kept our bills lower, but the evidence suggests it isn't working.

I understand Dish is doing this to keep prices low
But it'll increase anyway
And that's why people get pis--d off, And their favorite channel's
removed to boot.

Does anyone actually have a list of what channels Dish and DirecTV have dropped due to disputes so we could compare instead of just speculating? I would be one of the people that think Dish has more but since I don't have DirecTV and I don't spend any time on their forum I have no idea.

Can you imagine people that watch CNN on a regular basis

I read about something in a newspaper article so let's see what they say on the news

WTF where's CNN at?
I don't want to watch MSNBC.

I do think DISH has more disputes where channels are temporarily dropped. The reason is clear as can be and isn't disputable. Overall DISH is less expensive and in the majority of cases much less so. I have shown as have others where and how. By far and not even close most subscribers have a Vip or older receiver and for one or two rooms DISH can be $15 to $20 Less a month.

Out of all of the channel drops over the last 10 years how many of them have drastically affected your viewing? This question is for anyone who reads it. The last one that really affect me was when Dish dropped BTN for a few weeks. Even AMC wasn't that big of a deal because I could still watch the shows online.

For us in NY, the dropping of MSG was significant.

Dish dropped Smithsonian Channel about 6 years ago and it hasn't come back. Smithsonian Channel is owned by CBS so I am hoping they include it in their current negotiations.

I saw everything Smith had. They didn't add anything new. So IF they come back, I hope they have added new stuff.

Probably because Dish is more personalized about Charlie where D* isn't personalized hardly at all.
I believe if you investigate a little further no one has a receiver like the Hopper...........also perhaps one should consider that Echostar builds receivers, and is constantly providing Dish with new ideas, and equipment. D only makes a change
by following the industry Not contributing anything but programming. This and other factors cost money, which investors are most interested in.
