Will Dish carry the Logo Network?

EVERY channel advertises for the "straight" community.

Do any of these channels actually specify that? Why don't you start your own gay satellite service.

Thanks Slammin! You saved many of us from trying to put it into words.
Just don't expect some folks to move into the 21st century and
accept people who are different than them. Progress takes time, and has always been resisted by those whose comfortable beliefs are challenged.
I'm sure the AFA and Dobson have already planned a boycott on any provider that plans to carry Logo or Qtv. They would prefer to fight than accept equality for all.

I never thought a discussion about one freaking channel would reveal so much from such a 'small' group.

This is the 21st century, people....

as a card carrying member of the GOP, all I can say is "rack him"! Great post, the bible thumping extremists don't speak for me :D

Well folks, the fact is that there are between 15-25 million of us out here and we aren't going anywhere! We shop where you shop, we eat where you eat, we're bankers, lawyers, judges, teachers, senators, grocery clerks, stay at home moms/dads, butchers, bakers, and probably some candlestick makers. We pay the same taxes (and actually more since there are over 1000 rights and privileges that "straight" people can have that we can't) as each and every one of you, and guess what we actually watch tv just like you.
Here we are talking about a channel that is going to be a basic cable channel that will have less sex and nudity than you basic tv soap opera, less violence than a WWE monday night Raw, and apparently offensive shows like reruns of Golden Girls and Will and Grace. Now don't get me wrong, they will also tackle issues like Marriage for EVERYONE, same sex parenting, and other issues that would appeal to the GLBT community more than your everyday straight person, but If you are hoping to find some girl on girl action, you are just going to have to turn over to Cinemax or HBO for that, because it won't be here.
For those of you who are worried about your "Families", take a look at what is being watched every week. How many of you have one or more of the movies channels? How about Spike TV? MTV? The evening news? Days of our Lives, General Hospital, or any of the other dozen or so soaps that are on every day. Each and every one of those channels will have more sex, blood, dysfunctional families, and just about everything else under the sun, but for some reason, this is all okay for your family?
We aren't asking you to accept what we do in the privacy of our bedrooms any more than you are asking us to accept what you do in yours. But we deserve the respect of who we are the same as you deserve the respect of who you are. Human Beings just trying to make our little corner of the world just a bit better. Being gay is so much more than what goes on in the bedroom, just as it is being straight is so much more than what goes on in your bedroom.
One last thing for you to think about. If Dish were to add Logo, then a lot of those people who are gay in middle america (and guess what they are there too!) and elsewhere may just sign up for dish because their cable company won't carry it. The more people that sign up and are subscribers with Dish Network, the more money Dish makes which then gives them more capital to negotiate more channels for EVERYONE!!!!! The more money they will have to send up more satellites, the more money they will have to add HD programming. The more money they will have to give more people black, white, straight, gay or whatever more of what we all want, more choices, more channels, and less expensive than what people pay for cable!
We aren't asking you to watch Logo, but we are asking for the chance for us to get to watch it.
Thanks for listening (or reading I guess).

For all of those that have PM'ed me about my post (yes, even the few of you who have told me I'm going to h-e-double hockey sticks) thanks for your words. It is easier to just give a blanket reply than to try and write all of you back, but I am trying to get back to you all as quick as I can.

Your message was great.

Wow.

I must say I'm disappointed that a few on this forum have demonstrated bigotry, ignorance and a lack of tolerance -- reminds me of Jerry Falwell's claim that 9/11 was God's wrath against the United States for tolerating gays -- completely sick and very sad.

I'm not gay or lesbian or straight -- I'm just a human being -- and I try to treat everyone as I'd like to be treated -- fairly and with respect.

I've worked with lots of gay and lesbian folks over the years as my employer is close to West Hollywood. On average, they are honest, kind, generous, bright, educated and very creative folks -- just in case anyone out there wants to know. They're far better people, on average, than most of the members of my church -- sad to say.

Anyhow, that's all I have to say on the issue.

I look forward to checking out the Logo channels should it come to Dish.

Exactly how much gay television can there be? Will & Grace and Queer Eye reruns? Except for gay porn, not really much out there. Can the network succeed?
Pride TV up in Canada tried, but then had to resort to gay porn. That didn't work, so they split up and went to 24hr gay porn on Pride, and made Out TV for the Will & Grace reruns, and that isn't succeeding either.

Either way, whether it's put on Dish Network will be determined if Charlie thinks it's compelling or not. ;)

I nominate that as one of the dumbest things anyone has ever written on these forums.

Using that logic, and I use the term loosely, there should be seperate satellite services for women, men, blacks, whites, Asians, etc.

You see, that's why there are seperate channels, Einstein.

Unfortunately, your party speaks for them. Party of Lincoln, myazz.

Heh...What can we moderates say?...At least we don't have Howard "foot constantly in mouth" Dean running the party. ;) If the Dems ever hope to win the White House again they better muzzle/jettison Dean and start listening to Clinton (Bill).

Each channel gets a cut from each sub right? I shouldn't have to be forced to pay for some s**t like this. IF you want it, you should pay for it seperately.
