You mean I may finally get my first CE since switching back to D*. I now now what I will be doing Friday night.

looks like there are always more updates for the 700 than the 100? Why is that? I assume the 700 is much further along?

The -700 is the test platform, but I can't remember if it was because it was the first in the field, and therefore older, or if the -700 is more widespread than the -100. But yes, most updates roll to the -700's first.

There is probably a 10 to 1 ratio of -700 to -100 units. It was the first, and was testing way way before the -100 emerged in public.

Figured it had to do with saturation and age. Couldn't remember the age/release dates. I was still using HR10-250's when these new fanlged D* DVR's started coming out. Knew I would eventually have to have one, but wanted to let the bugs get worked out for awhile first. Had mine for many months now and can no longer really complain about the overall design and build. Yes, it's not a Tivo, but it has things the Tivo doesn't and I have grown to like them. So much so that I am tossing my HR10 next Saturday for my second HR20 :)

I did that about 2 months ago. My wife is holding on to hers with bleeding fingers. Even the one I retired is in storage in case hers breaks. She loves Tivo and doesnt care about HD. The local OTA HD is enough for her. Fair enough for me since I got 2 HR20's and loving it. :)

I Installed my old HR10-250 in the bedroom and I am going to have it make the call tonight to reactivate the Tivo DVR service.

I see a much improved response to key presses. Now when I change channels the channel number and program description appear immediately. Before this update I was left looking at the previous channels data for 3 seconds before the channel changed. Changing channels is no longer an annoying process!!! The guide is faster too. I dont see my VOD anywhere though. Time to give this thing another point in my review of it.

Tried it but must have missed the window, it started downloading the 018 file but stayed @ 1%, system appeared to restart but the lights never came back on. I hit the power button on the remote to find 017E was downloading. Guess I'll try again Saturday night.

Normally the window is 11pm to 2:30 am, I don't know if it got cut short tonight or not.. if you want, you can try again tonight, I believe this one is also available for 2 nights, so all is not lost !

West coast had some problems last night and they didnt open it up throughout the entire window. So try again tonight.

My day of issues. Favorites was reset when I went to test unit this morning. I tried to rename it and it wont take the change. I can edit my channels. I did a menu reboot and my favorites was back to the way it was before the update. Anyone else experience a need to reboot after this download?

I am planning to update my -100 tonight, has anyone heard if Brewer's issues are the norm for this update ?

Running fine now. I know the CE Directv folks dont want you to reboot after the download, but its been running good since reboot.

Just finished the download on my roomate's hr20-100. Need to turn down the ring of light before it blinds us :) I'm curious about the OTA improvements here as thats something that Dish has over DTV (no, I'm not bashing and actually growing rather fond of the hr20). I can unplug my silver sensor from my 622, getting 90's on all channels and plug it into the hr20 and get nothing. All in all, a nice quick update here. Going to mess with it a bit and then head to bed!

Well, very interesting...Took the Silver Sensor off the 622, plugged it in and I'm getting all locals. A couple (the pbs subchannels) are a bit weak. Also noticed that 13.1 and 13.2 have dropouts but they did on the 622 till version 4.09 so there is hope here! Nice improvements DTV! Just tweak it a bit more. I rant about OTA but it is important to those of us not in major markets since most of my prime time TV is network so its nice to see the sat. companies giving some love to the OTA crowd! Now I'm going to bed :D
