Made the "move" to Denver, but a question...

I moved from Indianapolis to get HD locals, plus Denver Broncos games every week. The move went well and everything is coming in like it's supposed to.

One question, though: Now the schedule and receiver time are on local Denver time, which is two hours behind where I am. I thought the time zone keyed off of the zip code entered in the Installation screen (which is my real zip code), not the service address or local channels. Is there a way to get my receiver back on Indy time?

Thanks.

no, it is based off service address

You will get used to it fairly quickly though. All of us who actually live out here are constantly subtracting 2 hours from the posted Eastern times for most of the cable networks. After awhile, it just becomes automatic.

Indianapolis here also. Do you have OTA reception as well, and do the local stations have incorrect times for their shows? I thought about moving to Chicago but didn't want to hassle with the time zone difference, so I moved to Atlanta instead.

I moved from Indy to Chicago and my locals do indicate the Chicago time zone. We got used to it pretty quick though, it never really bothered us after the first week or two. I moved to Chicago because I can live with my daughter and her husband. So it's convenient in case they should ship anything to my service address.

I moved to Burger King. Every time I have to ship something to my service address I have to dress up like a restaurant inspector, show my photoshopped ID and then carefully maneuver to the managers office where I slyly tuck the new receiver into my overcoat :)

Yes, I have OTA as well, and the times are different for that, too. It's a little weird seeing the same network shows on at different times on OTA and the Denver locals, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. But I'm psyched, because not only do I get the Broncos in HD, but now I can record three network shows in HD at the same time (though I'm having doubts whether the new fall season will yield that many riches :).

I have a question. I just made a "move" from North Dakota to Salt Lake City but I'm still getting the same Dish locals and Fox Sports North. From what I understood, I would be able to get the Salt Lake City HD locals through Dish along with Fox Sports Rocky Mountain and Altitude Sports. I read on another post that none of the local SD channels would come in through the Dish because of the spot beam but I thought the local HD and RSNs would work fine. Am I missing something here? If this isn't going to work, it's actually no big deal since I will physically be moving there in two weeks. I just thought I'd preview the locals before my arrival. I did the move this morning and have since reset my units and performed the "check switch" a few times on both units. The time on my programming guides has already changed from Central to Mountain time but that's about it.

Log into your Dish account online and go to add programming, then locals. If it shows that the locals are "checked" then yes you have a problem. If not, just add them to your account, and you're done.

I tried that too but, like you, I got the same "technical difficulties" message.
