Help!

I'm a major league Cubs fan and I am being blocked from watching them pursue their playoff run on THREE freakin' Dish Network Channels tonight (Wed. 9-17).

I live in the Cubs market in Illinois. I also subscribe to the Multi-Sports package.

The Cubs are on ESPN Ch. 140 and are also listed on the Alternate MLB feeds on both Channels 447 snd 448.

Now while I understand that one of the ALT Channels is for the Cincy/Ohio market, shouldn't I be able to watch the friggin' Cubs/Reds game from Wrigley Field on the other listed feed? Or at least on the ESPN game if unable to watch them on the ALT Channel feeds? What freakin' gives?

This really ticks me off....with the Cubs in friggin' contention.

One of the RSNs control your area thus you can't watch it. I can't see it here in Dayton, Ohio because FSN Ohio owns the rights to all Reds games here.

The problem is the game is being broadcast on WCIU Channel 26 in Chicago. If you have Chicago locals you can see the game, but otherwise I believe the game is blacked out on ESPN for anyone within the Cubs market.

i can get the FoxSports Cinci/Ohio here in Between eaton and Camden, but the Espn is Blackouted. But i am able to watch the reds game on 427

He's watching OTA. Since WCIU has the game, ESPN is blacked out. Alt is blacked out becuase it is a feed for another area's RSN. So, actually, no one screwed up, OP just needs to watch the game on WCIU.

Then why are there 2 alts? I see it like this all the time. When the sox are on 429(CSN) then the cubs will be on one of the alt. One alt is Cinci and the other should be open to watch in my DMA.

What sucks is that D* does not have HD WCIU

That's only if Comcast is carrying he game, the alt channels are alternate RSN's. Tonights game is not on an RSN, so it can't be on an alt. The Reds are on 2 RSN's, Fox Ohio & Sports SOuth. Probably an alt for each of those.

If what your saying is true then ESPN should NOT be blacked out. In scenarios like this the alt has been open to me several times in the past.

The real question is...why are they show the Sox on CSN anyway...they are tied for last.:D

Where are you? Do you not get WCIU? They have the Chicago market rights to the game, so ESPN is blacked out in Chicago. The alt channel cannot be opened up for a non RSN. If you are outside of WCIU footprint, then ESPN should not have been blacked out.

Oops, you weren't the Original Poster, my Bad. He said he was in the Chicago market, so he would have had the game on WCIU. You should have had it on ESPN, correct?

ESPN was blacked out in the South Bend, IN market, so I couldn't watch, either... :(

WCIU is rather hard to receive here, so that shouldn't have caused the blackout.

You're right, if you're out of the WCIU footprint, you should have gotten the game on ESPN.
