About the Voom Channels, Seriously

Agreed. Maybe the way I see it is. There is a ballgame on that I am interested in. Yup, it is way better in HD, sound, picure, quality, wide, everything. If I can't get it in HD, guess what, I am ging to watch it anyway. Was wondering if this was the case with some Voom stuff.

And if you couldn't get in in SD, you'd probably listen to it on the radio. And if you couldn't do that, you'd probably follow it on the internet. Normal TV is not really comparable to sports fandom. I won't watch anything in stretchovision. I won't watch movies with commercials. I generally don't even look at the non-HD channels for programming. The Voom I watch is chosen over the huge amount of available HD programming.

It is not dancing around the issue. Removing HD from programming designed for HD fundamentally changes the programming. Would you watch programming designed for sound without sound? If not, does that mean the plot and content is not strong enough to stand on its own? Would you watch shows designed for color if it were presented without? If not, does that mean the plot and content is not strong enough to stand on its own? Would you watch programming designed for a wide screen in full screen? n? Would you watch shows designed for color if it were presented without? If not, does that mean the plot and content is not strong enough to stand on its own?

There is an interactive effect between content and presentation. Changing one changes the other. Showing Lord of the Rings in black and white, without sound, in full screen mode, with commercials, is showing it in a way that I will not watch. That says nothing at all about the quality of the content.
Some people dont like LOTR and wouldnt watch it if it were in 3d smellovision. Some just find the content to be uninteresting. Which is again what im wondering.
I dont really know how else to put it. On some shows that i REALLY want to see, id watch them even if my sound went out, sure. I could still get the general plot of the show. Without color, sure, i can still see and hear what going on. Now would i want to? Of course not. But this question is asked in a hypothetical
way.

No, my answer is that your your question is both disingenuous and built on a faulty understanding of programming. Seriously.

i honestly didnt see an answer in that or any post you had made. seriously.

Dont understand why you cant give a simple yes or no answer on if you think voom has good content based on content alone. Why so defensive?

Have you stopped beating your wife?

Sometimes a question can not be truthfully answered "yes or no". Read the OP. The context with which he includes the question shows that a "yes or no" answer will be interpreted by him incorrectly, leading him to the wrong conclusion, because the foundation of his question is faulty. A "No" answer does not indicate there is a problem with Voom content. A "Yes" answer does not indicate the content is good.

What if he had said "I am wondering, and this is no stab at the Voom package, but I am curious. Would you folks that really like Voom, still watch the channels if they were without sound? I think that when I hear the arguments about content I wonder if the answers are really about content at all?"

If you said "no", it would be interpreted as the content being bad, and you were primarily watching Voom because it had sound. Thus a "no" answer" is not an accurate answer. I would not watch Voom if they got rid of the sound, but I DO watch Voom for the content, not primarily for sound.

If you can't see what my answer is, despite me endlessly explaining to you what my answer is, I don't know what else I can do.

Another dance around what i asked. I guess i could just read into what i put in bold. Because thats what i was looking for.

Here is his original question "

Dont see what in there would lead you to believe he wouldnt take your answer at face value

VOOM was created for HD viewers just like HDNet was. Would I watch those channels if they were in SD, probably not because I don't watch any SD channels. Would I watch those channels in HD if the programs had content that I had no interest in? Probably not because I don't watch HD channels just because they are HD. I won't waste my time unless the content was worth watching. If I want HD channels, I have to pay for SD channels too, even though I don't watch them. I have no choice. If I had the option, I would subscribe to HD only channels and not to SD.

I like Rave, HDNews and Trasures HD. Those are the only ones I watch regularlly.

I use to like Anamania when they had the classic (Roger Ramjet, Felix the Cat, old time cartoons...) but I can stand the cartoons they are on there now.

Come on no Leather face for you Scott. I hooked on Monster HD.
NO i would not watch Voom SD

For God's sake. If I answered "no", he would take that to mean it was a problem with Voom content. His conclusion would be wrong.

Read that over and over until you understand it. Hell, reading any of my posts before responding to them would have cleared things up for you.

I answer your questions over and over and over yet you never answer any of mine. Your refusal to read my answers and your refusal to provide your own answers, says to me you can't deal with either.

I would be into Monster channel also if they atleast showed New or almost new movies, rather then OLD ones. Everytime I put on a voom channel, I think, I become more Gay then I actually am. lol

I only liked Monsters HD on Voom. The rest didn't really matter to to me. But for me I got the HD pack because I wanted HD, But also because I wanted to see what Voom was like ,not so much because it was in HD,but because no one else has the Voom option. To tell you the truth there are some Voom channels that aren't half bad,If I could subscribe to Voom for a reasonal Fee I would ,Even if it was SD only. Monsters HD IMO has better programming and movies then Chiller.

AAAHAA!! Finally an honest answer!! If you watch Voom you get Gayer!
Sapient, that was my underlying reason for asking the question. You got me!
Seriously though, I get your point. I don't agree with it, but I get it. No lack of understanding here. Just a simple question, one that I honestly did not know how would be answered. It could have been 100% Yes as far as I knew. Youy put layers and layers and layers of thought and inuendo into it that was not meant to be there.

You have a gumball, do you like it. No doesn't mean that you hate all gumballs. Yes doesn't mean that you like every one. It was really a simple question that I wanted to know the answer too. Let's please let this one die!!!

are u paranoid? Why would he say or think that?
I read your responses each and every time. and from what i could assertain it was a lot of well what if this, and what if that when a simple yes or no would have been enough.

What questions havent i answered of yours?
