i believe you have to pay an extra $5 for voom channels . I am not sure about this

You don't get Science Channel HD with the top 200 either.

Voom is NOT an additional $5.00/ month- included in the HD pack.

DirectTV does the same thing. Adding HD to any of their packages only gives you the HD channels available for that tier.

what about TBS for my 200 package...i didnt see that on the programming guide pdf

You'll get whatever chs. are in your pkg. In my case I only have the top 100 & HBO so I get HBO's and a few others. No Nat'l Geographic! Only comes with the top pkg. Bummer.

i know i only get channels in my package...but what package has the nhl network

Don't take our rant against the fact that TBS HD blows and sucks as a sign that ALL of Dish's HD offerings blow and suck. They don't. TBS HD is quite unique in the degree at which it blows and sucks. Most of the rest of Dish's HD lineup is quite good -- including the Voom channels in my opinion. Though you might hear from others on this board that the Voom channels also blow and suck.

Not sure about NHL Network. Might need the Center Ice package for it.

:)

Yeah I can't figure out why the Office is in standard def on TBS HD. I've seen most of the episodes on DVD anyway, and they look better on 480DVD than they do on NBC on my little 26" LCD. However the picture seemed to be very good during the baseball games, which up till now seems to be their only HD content.

AFAIK, TBS ran "true" HD only for the WS, otherwise it is strech-o-vision and that is what everyone complains about.
Sports packages required for most sports.
After your intro special, consider the DVR advantage to save a few (3-5) bucks.
If you want more than 2 premium channels and HD or have multiple DVRs consider AEP with HD, ~$110-120.
