Can someone settle this question for me - Is SciFi being broadcast in HD on Dish? I've been following the discussion threads on this board which lead me to believe it was not, but another board I frequent says it is being broadcast in HD.

Can someone settle this question for me - Is SciFi being broadcast in HD on Dish? I've been following the discussion threads on this board which lead me to believe it was not, but another board I frequent says it is being broadcast in HD.
Perhaps they are confusing it with The Science Channel which is in HD on Dish.
Dish does have Universal HD, which has a few of the same shows that are on SciFi. I know they show Stargate Atlantis on Universal HD, and I've seen Battlestar Galactica on there too. Not sure if they have any other SciFi shows on there or not.
The last I looked the channel is up 24/7 so if it had hd on it 24/7 direct subs would be getting hd from sifi 24/7. As its pointed out, it is more than E* right now. Dish network is in sleeping mode with no end on when they will wake up out of their hibernation.

Doesn't matter how much HD they got; what matters is what they show in HD, which, from what I hear, is some or most of their original programming, like Stargate Atlantis.
Scorpion King was HD yesterday, Atlantis... I have timers set for Saturday for First Contact and Stargate the movie... unknown if they will be HD but so far the movies marked Letterbox stand a fair chance of being HD... National Treasure will likely be as it was on USAHD last week...
The Matrix was in HD last weekend too with some very good PQ. Also Battlestar Galactica: Razor was in HD too. After a very bad start SciFi HD has gotten a lot better with more and more HD all the time.
I would imagine this would be the case with most of the national HD channels as they come online. They probably won't start out with much, but as time goes on and they get more accustomed to the new technology and get bugs worked out, there will be more and more shows on the HD channels actually shown in HD.

But to answer the OP's question and stay on topic, no it is, as of right now, not on E*
I looked at the guide for the next week,and I see none of these shows on Universal HD.When did you see them there?
SGA is on Thursday nights at 10PM. BSG will be returning in 2008. Universal HD
