I just got off the phone with a dish installer and they had cancelled my installation. They said they did not have a technician in my area. I figure why schedule if you don't plan on doing the job. They wanted to reinstall on the 3rd, I really dont want to take off another day from work. I called dish this AM and expressed how I have taken off of work for the install and they are going to try to reschedule next saturday. I asked them is that a actual date or just a tenative date. I asked if they will have someone in the area and will show up. They are going to get back with me.

It just upsets me when someone tells me they are going to do something and they dont do it or even attempt it.

Are cancelations normal? YES. Don't be surpised if they reschedule your rescheduled appointment.

Strange, I've had Dish out to my house 3 times total (original install, 61.5 must carry, and Dish 1000/622 upgrade) and they were right on time for each of the 3 scheduled visits, no cancellations.

I have had all kinds of problems with late and no show installers. And if you ask for an afternoon appointment they won't let you check on status till 5 Pm---and then you gt a message saying that the office is closed.

at least in my area service appoitments are one of the most frustrating parts of the DISH experience.

I think you are the lucky exception to the rule.

My installer kept in touch with me, which allowed me to take care of an errand while I was waiting, secure in the knowledge that he would not arrive before I got home. As it turned out, the customer before me had added additional rooms to the order; as a result, he was somewhat late.

C'mon, people - please let your retailer know how many rooms you will be having installed so that time can be budgeted and people scheduled later in the day have a better chance of having the installer arrive on time.

I had a bad experience the FIRST install, but everytime someone else has had to come out to the house it's been great, right on time and all.

I've had an installer out 3 or 4 times, always on time, called me when he was on the way so I could leave work and meet him at the house.

My install was set for today between 8-12. The installer called last night to verify I would be home. Yes, I said, I will be here. Today he calls at 10am and says he doesn't have the proper equipment for the install(722) and reschedules for next Saturday. It's not that cold out today.

West Michigan last I knew was serviced by an RSP that dish has plans to move out of the area as soon as possible. Lastnight he knew what you needed as he must have had your work order in his hands so he obviously knew then that you needed a 722.

maybe his warehouse was out of equipment? It happens to us all the time.

Hey Van, have you ever heard them saying anything bout geting rid of the RSP for Iowa/Kansas?

Actually, in my area, DirecTV is the one with the history of either cancelling...well...actually, they don't cancel. They just schedule you 3 weeks out, and then their lousey installer shows up 6 hours late...at 9 at night...and then refuses to get on my roof to do the install! when I pitched a b***h and demanded someone come back out, they said it'd be 3 weeks again! I called Dish and got someone out in 3 days and I've never looked back!

So I'd say it all depends on your service area! All appts I've had in my area have been awesome!
