OFFICIAL: Dish Network Not Enough New HD Complaint Thread

They don't need more satellites to add new HD, there is no excuse here.

A good portion of that Voom stuff hasn't changed in years.

Get rid of the fashion channel, and add SciFi.

A lot of their channels are lame, and can be replaced with what Charlie used to call "Compelling Content".

They don't need another sea launch, they just need to negotiate with content providers.

Get on the ball E*!

I'm already missing Stargate Atlantis in HD and I'm bitter about it every time I watch the show.
And there are millions.... er.... thousands.... er.... a handful of other people who feel like you do:
Monday - November 19, 2007 | by Darren Sumner

The sixth episode of Stargate Atlantis's new season took a small ratings downturn on when it aired on November 2. "Tabula Rasa" earned a 0.9 rating, down one-tenth of a point (10 percent) from the previous week.

The rating matches "Doppelganger," which aired two weeks earlier, as the series' lowest rated episode to date.

Stargate Atlantis was once again the top-rated original drama on SCI FI Channel for the week.

Note that last line. No original drama on SciFi even cleared 1.0 rating that week.

In contrast, Lost last night had a 6.7 rating, which was low for that show - and is certainly just as much SF as anything on SciFi Channel.

Even Smallville on the CW had a 1.6 rating.

I think dish needs to stop forcing agents to say "thank you for calling dish network, leader in hd and dvr" If you dont say it.. BAM QA gets you.

I asked and they have like 31 channels lol

What voom show has cracked a .01, EVER?

I want more HD now, so that I can change my programming to the HD-only Pak, now. Until a few more channels are added, it just doesn't appeal to me as much as it could...

On a slightly different note, but still complaining... I called E* tonight to inquire about the HD-only Pak and encountered a completely clueless CSR (go figure) Then I logged onto a chat session with a CSR who quickly confirmed the information that I was looking for. Looks like from now on I'll be using the chat feature. Of course the next time, it'll probably be the exact opposite experience.

How much does it cost per month to break my 18 month contract with Dish?

When i got a 722 in december, signed up for 18 month commitment and the csr said it was $13.33 per month if i got out of the contract early. I guess the price is still the same.

That is the bite to take this package. Dish will probably not add much hd until the next sat. is up and operating so they did the next best thing and offered this pack.

The chat online with Dish is usually less painless.:)

That is my point exactly! Get rid of the fashion channel among others, and replace them with something that has at least some compelling content.

I would enjoy watching stargate in HD!

The viewership of SciFi HD will be a whole lot higher than Voom Ultra!

can we all get together and take dish network to court for false advertising when they say they are the HD leader.

What voom show has cracked a .01, EVER?

A lot of it is movies, not TV Shows.

But even so, the percentage of households that have access to Voom is a tiny fraction of those that have SciFi.

It would be interesting to divide both Voom and SciFi ratings by number of households with access.

PS By the way, the only reason that "Voom Ultra HD" has no support on this site, is because there are no women posting here... my wife watches it roughly once a week...

That's the unfortunate part, that I do understand (sat launches). It wouldn't take much to push me over the edge on the HD-only package though, SciFiHD, USAHD, and maybe FXHD and I'd be all over it. I know that eventually it'll all be there, I just can't help being a bit impatient about it.

It was literally a night and day experience... both CSR's asked for a couple of minutes to confirm their information before a response, and then each came back with completely different responses. "Penelope" (telephone) seemed to have a grasp of the English language but, she came back with a response that had absolutely nothing to do with what I had asked, and "David" (chat) responded with a very specific dollar amount that confirmed what I had worked out ahead of time. Not only was it accurate but, it took a fraction of the time. I didn't even have to wait in a que. Kudos to E* for that experience.

Dish better drop their HD package to 14.99 for everything b/c they are losing customers and subs downgrading to the $10 pak like flies.

Here's the deal. E* has the space RIGHT NOW to add 12 to 15 national channels without the new sats going up. So far they have choosen not to do that. Will that decision hurt them? Only time will tell.

now is that 12-15 sd channels? or 12 - 15 hd channels? i think it will hurt them if they have the space and they decide not to use it to there advantage. But its true only time will tell.

That is HD Channels. They have the space right now to do that before the satellite goes up. Why they haven't I don't know.

i think so one if not EVERYONE need to write dish and complain about us not having USA or SCIFI HD. i think we need to get the point across.
