From what I hear yes.....I called a local retailer said they were and I called dish and the csr said that it was too. . . now we all know some don't know what they are talking about but she put me on hold for 10 min to come back with that info. . so I don't know....
Wow I need to get a 61.5 Dish then! I can get all the HD Locals OTA but it would be sweet just to have...Thanks for the info!
Go to your check switch screen: Menu, System Setup, Installation, Point Dish, Check Switch. It will tell you what sat locations you have.
I just did a system info chk and I have 119,110,129 and 105. So I haven't got 61.5. Now my question is why would they put up hd locals for this area on a sat that everyone doesn't have. And also what will I need to do in order to receive these or will they go to another sat aswell.

Well the more NC Locals HD go live the better due to most of my family live out there and some of them are looking at going to Dish..
I don't know if these have gone live yet. I called this morning and tech support(who answered) didn't know anything about it. So my best guess right now is no...I am pretty mad about it because the retailer keeps saying they are available but when you call dish they don't know. And I keep making sure they know it's NC not Greenville, SC that I am looking for.
Your sd locals are on the 110 sat. Used to be on the 105. Yes, you will have to have a new dish pointed at 61.5 Once they go live, call your retailer, maybe free, maybe have to recommit for a few months.
Well if they did Dish CSR don't know about it. I was told by the CSR that once they go live it would be a free upgrade to get the dish for 61.5. And the account would show an upgrade available. I am up in the air on this one. You would think the local retailer would be accurate.
when the Eastern Arc is complete, you will have only one dish pointed at 61.5, 72.7, and 77. If you haven't heard of the eastern arc, just go to the search area and iniate a search. It will tell you all about it.Glad to hear that there possibly would be a free upgrade for the dish though. That does make me feel a little better
Great news. I just got an email from Dish saying "Local channels are now available in High Definition in your area." All you have to do is call... for your free upgrade. So... I make the call and what does the CSR say? Sorry, they are not yet available in your area. To make matters worse she says "don't worry, you will pick them up automatically when they become available." I tell her that I'm not pointed at the 61.5 satellite. She says that I have the "innovative" 1000.2 dish and it will get them "automatically."
I called back immediately. A different CSR says that HD isn't available yet but she set me up for a free install of of the Dish to pick up 61.5 on Thursday.
