NYC/Boston Going Spot. Are you a mover?

Denver may be another story & will definately affect me if it does!

I can't see Denver going spotbeam just because the shear area they cover legally. They cover 3 states

I lost Boston HD locals (never had the SD as it was spot beamed). Guess I am SOL for HD Nets out of Boston. Surprisingly NESN is still coming in in both HD and SD, along with CSNNE the local NBA outlet. Would love to keep the Red Sox on NESN as the MLB paskage is not available on DISH, but the divorce would be more too expensive.

Any other options available that are not spotbeamed for HD networks? I have access to 129, 61.5, 119, 110, and 145 (???? I think). Denver??? Any chance of getting any east coast HD nets and NESN??? HD network signal has spoiled me along with the time shift I enjoy. Also NESN for the Red Sox has just been perfect. Portland. Maine??? or Providence, RI anychance they are CONUS??? I feel like I lost a good friend.

as of now you will not loose SD networks, but you will probably be out of spot for HD NYC, but Burlington Vt., just went on in HD, you probably might be in that spot. Im in Ogdensburg and am in NYC spot but not sure it makes it to Ottawa. If you are getting HD from NY now you are ok, as they went to spotbeam today. Do you have HD reciever?

No just SWD. Was thinking of getting HD, but from what've been reading you have to pay alot for it, plus gettinmg maybe? another dish(presntly have two 24" BEV dishes pointed at 110 & 119, If I do go HD I gues I'll need to get another dish and an instaler to do the job. I'd probally get the HD PVR one the one thats MPEG 4.

well when I "moved" last year they messed up and I was getting both LA and NYC locals. I still have the LA in HD so I guess until they realize I have both or they take NYC SD channels of conus I won't move back.......... yet

129 is all CONUS. 118.7 is too but you'll need a Dish1000+ or Dish500+ to get 118.7.

Some people might be surprised what spotbeams they are under on 61.5. Check your signals on 61.5 on the odds from 1 - 15.

Tonight my wife tells me in a panic that the dish is not working. She wants to watch Survivor on the NYC HD feed. I am checking switches and still no 61.5 TP 15. Wind has been bad lately so I figured I need to realign 61.5. Then I thought Charlie may have moved them to spotbeam. So I checked here. At least I don't need to get the 7/16" wrenches out to dog that dish.

I always imagined Charlie getting HD Eastern time zone locals in HD while at home in Denver. I never imagined he would spotbeam the number 1 DMA . Now I have to decide if NYC SD channels are worth the extra cash. Is NYC Conus on Directv?

This really sucks. Having HD Eastern feeds rocked.

I ''MOVED"" to NY city.

Hello.

I ''moved'' to ny city from wilmington, nc.

for some reason all of my hd ny locals are gone. i get error 004 asking me to reboot.

I catch all the sats on my 622 receiver

61.5, 110, 119. 128 (i forget exactly) but they are all green, even after running test switch.

I get all hd channels and ny sd locals, but for some reason my HD ny locals are gone as of 7am 4-25-08 (thursday) it was fine last evening when i was watching ny local fox in hd.

any ideas????

thanks...Joe

Time to swing the 61.5 to 129 and pick a DMA.

Dont blame the inventor of the spotbeam. He just made it easier to get LIL's. Blame your governtment officials that take all the bribes to write laws that prevent you from subscribing from other cities, because of advertising dollars.
