Agreed. That's the only Voom channel I cared about. Monsters is irreplaceable. Chiller is OK, but nothing like Monsters.

They were awesome. I gave mine away when the 942 came out. I wish I hadn't.
I'm right there with you rhdj. He did not ask me either. Monsters HD goes I'M GONE INSTANTLY! What you said is so true. I can get everything I want on Direct and then some. I'm with Dish for Monsters HD. Is this guy Charlie really that clueless and out of touch? Should have been a politician.

Q Do you think Dish has turned the corner, and how are you doing the 700 mhz?
A: We have 3 areas to work and focus on... 1.Operations, we have slipped year over year,
as of feb operations were not broken but... alot of work to do to reduce reasons to call, do installs right and making system simpler.
2. HD we launched 22 channels yesterday, when AMC14 failed we had to do a lot of moving around, now we have a competitive product. highly competitive vs cable... We are probably ahead of the pack with STB... 3. We still have a Fraud /Piracy issue, card replacement starts this summer to plug this.
1st qtr is usually a downtime but piracy affected this.... good news we have the right team on operationally, we are more competitive than cable we need to work on catching up to Direct.
A:700mhz we want to be the best we can in video. We think we have a good investment , overall our intent is to bring in partner. our goal is this is a stratigic asset to build a global product... we are a long long way from this, it is a valuable spectrum.

HDLIL where you have HD LIL you are more competiitive. It is a factor if you have and the competition doesn't.
The digital transition will be an interesting phenomenon, we need to take advantage of this... our STB boxes take off air signal so you can put an antenna up and with a dvr record the local HD channels... we will wait and see. 2 sat launches this year and we get to 100 cities with HD
we are on track... we will be very competitive.

Dealing with Dish is becoming like radiation poisoning: it isn't any particular exposure, it's the accumilation that gets you.
I'm pretty confident that they know just how many people view all the Voom channels, and know just how many people will be mad. Apparently the number that will be mad are significantly less than the people who will be happy with the addition of mainstream channels.
If MonstersHD has that much of a following then it won't go away, as simple as that. I have a feeling, however, that you are the clueless one as to how many people really care about any of the Voom channels.

I can only hope Dish Network and Echostar don't run into the same problem as the TiVo patent infringement suit.
From what I read I understand that us VOOM, particularly Monsters HD followers, are in the minority and I understand that leaving DISH won't impact Charlie in any way. But, at least I know I won't be sending any money to that inane fool.

Anyone think this guy is bluffing? They could have removed all the Voom channels. Maybe he is looking for a new deal.
