A post of mine was answered last month related to viewing 622 TV1 in a remote location. I've got some further questions as to how to do this...

1. Can you / is there a UHF Pro Remote setup in the menu with the 622 somewhere? I can't seem to find it, like with the 625. I used to be able to enable UHF Pro Remote on people's 625s, but I don't think the 622 has this feature.

2. I have the following: TV1 (living room) using a green 5.3 IR remote and connected via HDMI with remote address of 2 (WORKING FINE; NO PROBLEM) / TV2 (girl's bedroom) using a blue 6.3 UHF remote with remote address of 5 and listed as UHF Pro Band A on channel 30 (WORKING FINE; NO PROBLEM) / and I want an additional TV1 (in the master bedroom)...

For the additional TV1 (mstr bdrm), I have a 6.0 UHF Pro remote, the TV is on ch 21, and the picture is coming through, but I cannot seem to get the remote to control the 622. I extended the antenna out of the cabinet for better pickup (the UHF for the remote only has to go through one uninsulated wall and is less than 35 feet).

The coax out on the back of the 622 is going to a splitter (one feed to TV2, and the other to TV1)

Can you walk me through and hold my hand at getting the remote to work the secondary TV1 (mstr bdrm)?... Do I have the wrong type of remote? Someone mentioned a 6.3; I only have the 6.0 I know that the remote address of both the 5.3 IR for TV1 and the other remote for TV1 have to be set to the same remote address; I know how to do this.

With the green tab up, it controls TV1 (living room) at the 622, but is doesn't control my secondary TV1 (mstr bdrm), and with the blue tab up, it doesn't do anything to either TV1; the main TV1, or the secondary in the bedroom.

Any help you can provide is appreciated. Thank you, and sorry for the long post.

Regards,

Bob

Take your 6.0 remote to the living room. Turn off the 622.

Push the "System Info" button on the front of the 622. The TV1 remote code should be something like "address 2, IR."

Push the "Record" button on the 6.0 remote. The TV1 remote code should change to "address 2, IR & UHF Pro, channel A." Done.

Did NOT work...Do I do it with the green tab or the blue tab facing up, and with or without the antenna connected. When I did it with the green tab up and the antenna connected, the address changed to 1, but did not change to IR / UHF Pro, channel A; it just changed the address to 1. When I tried it with the blue tab up, it changed the TV2 address.

Now, I have a 6.3 remote with a blue / black tab...what is the sequence I should try? antenna connected or not? Receiver off or on, blue or black tab up?

The 6.0 remote won't work for TV1 on anything newer than the 522/625/322 as UHF Pro. There is no menu option, instead the 6.2/6.3 remotes have four switch positions instead of two. One of the four is TV1 UHF Pro for 942 and ViP receivers. A 6.0 will work fine for TV2, it is the same as a 6.2/6.3 remote on band A "TV2".

[Band A/B is the little switch in the battery compartment. Leave that set on "A" unless you have all 6.2/6.3 remotes]

Since you already have a 6.3 remote for TV2, you can repurpose it for TV1. Pull off the tab at the bottom that's black on one side and blue on the other. There's a tiny slide switch inside the hole where the tab goes. This switch has four positions, and the shape of the "fins" on the tab determines what position the switch ends up when you put it in the hole. The tab you have will select two of these positions (UHF/IR and UHF PRO 2), the tab you don't have will select the other two (IR only and UHF PRO 1). You want to use a paperclip or toothpick to select one of the two positions that you don't get by putting the tab back in, and leave the tab out. [there's another tab or three that come with replacement remotes, and one of them fits this situation. Unless you have those, you need to leave the hole empty. If you put the blue/black tab back in, you'll move the switch.]

Set the 6.3 to the same address as the existing TV1 remote, put the receiver on the system info screen, hold your hand over the end of the remote to block the IR signal and push record. It should then either do nothing, meaning you've select IR only instead of UHF PRO 1, or it will change TV1 to "IR and UHF Pro" where it was just "IR" before. Set the 6.0 to the correct address for TV2 and push record on it, and you should be set.

I will have to wait until tomorrow to play with this. I will let you know how it turns out. I hope I can get it. I still don't see much that I can get at with a paperclip though. I'll look harder tomorrow though.

Thank you!!!

Thank you!!

It just so happens that I had a package of said extra tabs from some previous remotes. It pays to hang on to some things.

Picked the correct tab and PRESTO!!! Secondary TV1 in the bedroom.

Thank you again for your help.
