I have a Denon Receiver Model # AVR-2807 and I can not get the Dish Remote, model # 6.3 to work the receiver. I tried all the codes E* had on line. Has anyone got this or any Denon receiver to work with the Dish remote. Thank you:)

I'm not at home to pull the manual, but with my 3808ci it worked with one of the listed codes no problem for volume and power. It won't quite cycle through all the inputs though.

Lakebum, post up that code if you can!

I've got an AVR-3801, could never get my 622's remote to do anything with it. Gave up a long time ago.

I'm sorry guys, I didn't see this post until this morning and I'm back at work. In fact thinking about when I was programming the remote there was more than 1 that worked for volume. Are you guys following the instructions for programming the AUX button with a AV Receiver? (From the manual) Makes sure you are doing step number 4 below because that is the key.

Instructions Additional Information
1 Turn the device on. Use the device’s front panel buttons or its
remote control.
2 Find the brand name of the device in
the tables starting on page 128.
If the brand isn’t listed, see Setting Up Using
Device Codes Scan on page 78.
3 Press and hold the mode button until
all the other mode buttons light up, and
then let go of the button. The mode
button flashes.
For example, hold TV for a TV until all of the
other mode buttons light. When you let go, TV
will flash.
4 For AUX mode only. Press 0 for a
second TV, or 1 for a second VCR,
or 2 for a tuner, or amplifier.
This step is for programming which kind of
device that should be programmed in AUX
mode. If you’re not programming in AUX mode,
skip to step 5.
5 Enter one of the three-digit device
codes from the table using the number
buttons.
The three-digit device code should be for the
brand name of your device that you found in
step 2.
6 If you want to program Limited Mode,
press 1. If not, skip to step 7.
See Limited Mode for more information.
7 Press POUND (#). If you entered the code correctly, the mode
button flashes three times.
8 Press POWER to turn off the device. If
the device does not turn off, go to
step 10.
If the code works, the device should turn off.
9 Turn the device back on and try some
other buttons to make sure they work.
If the code works for other buttons,
stop here.
Sometimes POWER works when other buttons
don’t. If in Limited Mode, try VOLUME or
MUTE.

I've never had any luck getting my 622 remote to control my Denon receiver, tried everything. Kind of annoying since I'd really like to use the 622 remote to control the volume rather than the Denon remote which allows you to screw up the center and rear volume too easily when adjusting the master volume.

As mentioned above I know for sure that it works for the 3808ci with one of the codes listed. In fact I have two Dish remotes programmed with my 3808 (an old 942 remote that I use with a 622 and new style 722 remote), both are hooked up to the 3808. I have also hooked up a 2807 with a 622 that works perfectly on volume control. So if you have either of those models (and I would assume most others) then you are not doing something right as I'm positive it works. Make sure you are trying to program it to the Aux button and following step 4 above.

After doing the programing for the recevier on the Aux buttion you need to activate the "punch through" to make the volume always go to the receiver so that you don't have to hit the Aux button each time to change the volume:
Hold the Aux button until it flashes
Press Pound
Press the plus side of the volume button
Press zero
Press pound (Aux buttion will flass 3 times)
Press Sat and the volume should still be controlled on the receiver.

This is exactly my experience with my Denon 4802. Kind of wierd that it skips certain inputs.

Brad

I agree Brad. It is strange. Especially since it skips the TV input. Not a big deal to me, but still strange.

YOUR'RE AWESOME!. I was pressing the zero button then the code. I pressed 2 and the the code and it worked. All I want it to do is volume and off and on. Thank you so much. :D:D:D:D My next question is can I make the AUX the default for volume? I use my Denon to control the volume and not the TV.

I have the Denon AVR-1906. I too use Code Setting ('AUX'): 2759

Dish Remote: 6.3 IR/UHF Pro

You don't have to touch 'AUX' as 'Volume' AND 'Mute' are both the default when in 'SAT' and 'VCR' mode (I use 'VCR' for my Toshiba 1080p up-converting HDMI DVD Player).

AND....

Another nice feature in the code setting, when you select 'AUX' you can Shift through your 'INPUTS' for various inputs you have established through your Denon (AVR-1906) Receiver by using 'SELECT' (the large button in the center of the Arrows/Select Buttons on the Dish Remote).

BTW: You can check device codes for each setting by....

1.) Press and hold the 'MODE' button your are interested in until all the buttons light up

2.) Press '#' '#'

Watch the number of light pulses for the current setting (i.e., my 'AUX' = 2 - 7 - 5 - 9)

Right now I have to press AUX for volume for the Denon. When I press SAT and try to use the volume it always uses my sony tv. I'm kinda confused on how to make the denon receiver default volume.

To have the VOLUME and MUTE be the default when using SAT or VCR (I use VCR to control my DVD player) modes in conjunction with your DENON receiver ...

1.) Press and HOLD the ( AUX ) button until all lights flash...

2.) Press ( # ) ...

3.) Press the ( + ) side of the VOLUME button ...

4.) Press ( 0 ) (the number zero) ...

5.) Press ( # ) the AUX button will flash 3 times ...

6.) Press ( SAT ) and then VOLUME = ( + ) or ( - ) or ( MUTE ) button to check the receiver is responding correctly!

If it doesn't work the first time, try it again...

You won't have to touch the ( AUX ) button to adjust ( VOLUME ) or ( MUTE ) when in SAT or VCR modes.

GREAT FEATURE: When you select ( AUX ) you can Shift through your 'INPUTS' for various inputs you have established through your Denon (AVR-1906) Receiver by using ( SELECT ) the large button in the center of the Arrows/Select Buttons on the Dish Remote.

Thank you so much! Works great!:D:D:D:D

Using a 5.2 and a 5.3 code 2759 works for both Denon amps.

Thanks, that worked with my 5.3 remote. I have a Denon AVR789 for others who are curious. I used the 2-647 and 2-674 codes from the 5.3 remote manual but the buttons were mixed up. If I pressed the power button it would take me to the menu for the Denon. But 2-759 worked!

I also setup my remote to default the volume to the Denon using the steps mentioned above. Now I don't have to keep switching remotes when I need to change the volume.

Great info guys! However, once you have done the "punch through" and you get rid of your receiver, how do you undo it? I.e. how do I get the volume button to control the tv and not the non-existant receiver. Called Dish about this and they said my remote has "interference" and are sending me a new one. I just rolled my eyes and said okay...

So how about it???

Thanks,
