I called dish to change my 625 to a 322 and they said it would cost $75 is that normal? Plus i have to stay with them for 24 months!

I haven't been with dish for a year as of yet. But i keept telling the guy when i log into my account online it says $25 shipped $75 installed. So shouldn't i only get charged $25 if i install it?

Im about ready to call them back and say forget it and pay the $180 fee to get out of my contract with them. I really dont get why i am paying to downgrade my receiver plus doing so means i am locked in for another 24months.

Ok, I misunderstood what you wanted. You still want 4 TVs. Yes, you will save about $6.00 a month, but you have to pay the fee to change receivers. It's probably not worth it.

If you "never use" the 625, are you just talking about never using the DVR function or in general?

How many people in the house watching TV at the same time and want to watch different channels? If you have more tuners than whatever this number turns out to be, you can save money by feeding the RF from your primary receiver to all the other rooms and reducing how many receivers you have.

Yeah I was going to ask about the same thing that Pepper said.

With the 625 i never use the DVR function but all 4 TVs do get used. I just think $75 is a little pricey. I also kept getting charged an extra $5 for not having a phone line hooked up when i acutally do. If i went into the menu and both the Vip and 625 and hit test phone connection it says its ok but when i call up dish they refused to take the $5 off.

On that menu, click either dial out or send status. That will remove the fee.
