"NoCenterIceNoDishNetwork" Have your dad check out the SD version of the Weather channel. I was quite impressed with the interactive display they have. I'm hoping Dish implements it soon to the HD station, as Trek2000 was wanting as well.

The interactive feature never appeared on my 622 even on the SD station. I can get the forecast at DishHome, but not from channel 214.

It's not always there. Comes and goes, and I don't think "8" has much to do with it.

Directv...

has a generic HD Weather-on-the-8s. Widescreen, shows the same type of "new" graphics that you see in the "studio" presentations.

Local Comcast, also shows the new graphics with local info, some of which is new info, but we don't get the HD signal...but I assume its there...looks alot like the Directv feed, but with all the local data, radar and special weather statements.

Did they ever roll it out to everybody? I seem to remember it was a slow roll out, and maybe never got completed. IIRC, it never has had all the features originally planned.

You have to have interactive features turned on in the menu options, 6-1-6

Mine is enabled, but still no weather on the 8 interactive application. I have tuned it to watch the rolling national slates, but never got the press select for further information button. Did they ever roll out the enhanced version that was supposed to emulate the slates that are on cable?

The Weather Channel is HD? I haven't seen any HD on that channel yet!

Some don't like WFN due to their lack of HD content, but I'll start a petition against The Weather Channel. I'd rather watch fishing shows than a radar map over and over again, and thats coming from a weather freak. There are some things that really don't need HD and weather is one of them, at least at this time when there are better channels that could be put it it's place.

Oh wait.....now I understand why I haven't seen any by looking at the times you posted....they don't have any HD during the afternoon/evening!!!!!!!!!! Let's show HD only when people are at work or during primetime and/or heading to bed. Nice. I didn't know there was going to be a Everything HD.....between the hours of X and Y only......package available.

It's SD between 9am and 8pm your time.

So, it is not HD while people are at work.

If you watch ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX, they are HD during exactly the same time - the "morning shows" (GMA, Today Show, etc.) and "primetime" 8-11.

And, you also missed where I said:

Each month, one or two more shows will go HD.
