I have dish network and whenever it rains all of my hd go by the wayside and most of their HD channels are on 129 does that happen also to directv when it rains ?

I've never had Dish, so can't compare the two. But it takes a very hard rain for me to get any break-up, let alone total signal loss. In the rare case that happens, I still have OTA (or recordings) to fall back on.

I have had both in the last year, and have used the latest equipment from each at the time of service. I had Dish last summer and it went out all the f'n time. It didn't bother me as much since I also subscribed to cable that never goes out. So I had backup.

I have had DirecTV go out twice and both times it was a major downpour. The DirecTV dish is much larger than the two Dish Network dishes facing different directions on my roof.

Here in FL, from my experience so far, Dish went out a lot and DirecTV goes out sometimes.

From my Experience , I have the same results. D* is last one to go out ,first one back on. I got a good compairison last night . Big T Storms. E* was out for 15 minutes D* 10 minutes. This was the longest outtage I 've ever had with Satellite in 5 years. This was also one of the worst storms in 5 years.
